Same, but part of that is a credit to the fact that, regardless of how much people want to talk, GM treats it’s employees very well (yes, even the employees in the plants).

I’m pretty surprised and happy about that. I don’t know about you, but for my family the 20% deferral has honestly not been painful since we aren’t really spending money on anything other than basic living expenses. I realize that is an incredibly privileged thing to say.

I hate how takes like the above just completely mitigate all the hard work that a lot of us at GM have done to achieve those results.

Ugh. Guess what happens when you protest in the street? Hmmm. I wonder?

People who dont stand in the middle of the road get hit 0% of the time. True story.

So the current “explanation” going around my racist family is that it was the pull handle for the garage.”

This slideshow format is garbage. I’ve stuck with Jalopnik for a long time, and Tom, David, and Torch are primary reasons why.

But making articles into slideshows to generate more ad views is going to be a REAL quick way to kill a lot more ad views, myself included.

I hope the Herb up top hears this, but probably not.

Nope, fuck your slideshow. Did not read.

1st Gear: I bought a 2020 Silverado last week - I’ve been trying to find a 2016 or 17 lease turn in with ~30k miles for a month or two. I shit you not, with the money on the hood I got a brand new truck for $1500 more than an lease turn in.

We get it. You don’t like trucks. In a little over a month, you have posted three articles implying trucks are terrible. Don’t buy one.

In the midwest (which exists even though it’s not New York or Los Angeles), people drive trucks instead of SUVs and sedans. They can be just as luxurious as either of those, ride

A lot of this is going to happen when you lose your dominance because of years of complacency and end up going bankrupt. The culture now is much more conservative as a result. We’re still in the process of proving to the world that we can stay healthy, even in poor markets, which leaves less room for risk taking.

As a GM employee, I’m in for all of this. It’s bold, it’s different, it’s risk taking, it’s unapologetic, it’s just straight up wild, and I love every bit of it

This sites insistence on hating pickups is baffling. They are truly one of the best all round vehicles out their. Carry, haul, off road, and tow, they can be had at a wide range of price points, they are usually durable enough to last longer than most vehicles, and they hold their value better most things on the road.

I clicked all the way through to get the the comments just to say this is the last and only time i will ever click through one of these goddamn slideshow articles.

If this layout on desktop sticks Im pretty sure i’m leaving for good. this is unacceptable.

I’ll be honest, the people leaving Jalopnik didn’t bother me too much because there are still some decent writers left and I honestly just pop in as a fairly mindless distraction from work. Had no real plans to change that and couldn’t really give a hoot about Spanefeller or hulk Hogan or whatever other garbage goes

They just like to crap on GM. They also like to crap on SUVs. Put them together and you get empty commentary like that.

Both the Traverse and Enclave are good solid vehicles. Because you don’t like them doesn’t make them bad.

I laugh but I’m also wondering what the difference is between a Traverse and an Explorer that makes the Traverse the subject of ridicule? Or is that just a general anti-SUV stance manifesting itself in its GM form by the writer?
