This would never have been a problem if we had just NEVER LET ENTERTAINMENT GROW OUT OF PROPORTION IN THE FIRST PLACE. Why are clowns who make us laugh or cry or cringe, (literally) idiot savants in some sport and people who write books that waste millions of hours of human productive time making so much more money

Palo Alto's a nice town with a lot of resources and probably no other crime to speak of. In neighboring East Palo Alto this wouldn't have happened :P

And that's just a tiny, in fact negligibly small, piece of the universe.

Looks right to me. Actually, this is easy to read. You just take the vector sum of the x and y component vectors for each pictured resultant.

correct me if i'm wrong anyway, but hasn't my oral-b toothbrush had this charging technology since like 1998?

just in time for the end of the world lol

@battra92: I drive a "crappy" prius. and i don't run around saying it's better than anyone else's car. as i've said before i'm still not sure whether the total carbon cost of the car is more or less than a conventional car, but here's the thing:

@MiltoxBeyond: i do appreciate your position. i think wireless sync still isn't reliable for me, over wifi 3g or whatever. and i've never had a connector problem with a modern phone — but those damn headset connectors fail no matter how hard i try to protect them.

look how much tension is on those wires!! way different from the american system; i wonder if their way is cheaper / less maintenance?

that's just it — you can do soooo much without computers, and cheaply, if you're just resourceful.

stop it. we don't need wireless charging the way you guys are selling it to us.

@jim.embers: sort of. i can see the social consequences among coworkers thinking "omg did he really just take three days off last week AND two this week?!" but at the same time, if i were an employer and could afford it, i would say "don't work any day you won't be able to give your best." but i'm not sure i would

Yeah I'm also a teacher for the lifestyle choice. I get more time with my family and less time at work.

dude, becoming a parent taught me everything i need to know to be happy in spite of the things in my life i can't directly change.

the man's solution to this problem? portrait mode monitor.

@bobkoure: or a light solvent; gasoline or nail polish remover with acetone. the point is you can remove it from surfaces without damaging the surface.

does anyone know what percentage of people need to report this sort of information before a critical mass is built up that guarantees accuracy? is it as little as 5% or is it more like 50%?

i manage tabs by avoiding giving my free time away to my computer.

Everyone agrees: the question is "is that WORM storage really guaranteed for lifetime like it would be if you were still paying for it?"

@prupert: there are elections every other year here because of the "separation of powers:" this year several states have gubernatorial races (the states' equivalent of a president - 6 yrs at the top executive position), one (of two) senate seats is up in each state (the more prestigious part of the legislative
