There's no rational argument with right leaning people. At least not that I've come into contact with (living in the south doesn't help). It's not how long it takes YOU to get there, it's how long it takes to move the same amount of people as an airplane.

You would still have to space out the shuttles pretty far in order for them to be cleared before the next one gets there, with the airlock process and all, that would still wind up taking 10-15 minutes, which means you could only send a pod every 10-15 minutes.
