I met Grant and Robert in a bar on their final tour. My friend and I had come into Chicago to see them and we got to the venue early to get a bite to eat. Grant was chilling at the bar and I ended up sitting next to him and causally chatting over a beer. He signed my copy of Liberty Belle which got smudged, sadly.

Oh man, the Stan Ridgway Wall of Voodoo was amazing. Their first album Dark Continent and their first EP are back to back classics. Call of the West has Mexican Radio, and Lost Weekend, which is probably their best song and Factory which is pretty much the entire blueprint for Modest Mouse.
