The guy who put anti-piracy software in a mod without warning?

How is it a virus? Because it detects whether or not you’re a thief? Secondly, if they’re pirating, how is it steam’s fault? Thirdly, are you just batshit insane?

Fine, semantics, lets say “accommodate”  then. They are saying they deserve and are obligated to be given a mod they had no part in creating for a  game they payed nothing to obtain.

It doesn’t matter if the contract is illegitimate, that’s not for us to concern ourselves with. It’s a contract between those two parties, not those two parties and us by association.

I’m not calling all just pirates dipshits, just these particularly self-entitled ones. Pirates tend to be self-entitled by nature, but flaming a developer of a free mod for not catering to them is some next level dipshittery.

Do you know how many programs move and delete files? And if it’s just moving files that the mod itself installed, there’s even less reason to cry foul.

Also, in this scenario, there *is* no licensee. So unless the licensor asks him to stop, nobody complaining has any grounds to.

Youre not a licensee if you didnt buy the rights to it. So that debunks your whole arguement.

Also, holy shit do you fail to grasp how much work went into “de-pixelizing” things (fantastic term by the way, a term that diminishes and minimizes a shitload of work). They went through and rebuilt every single in-game asset so that they would look good in 4K. They don’t just apply some “de-pixelizer filter”. That’s

The USPS is a government bureaucracy that attempts to operate like a for-profit corporation. Regardless of where you stand on government versus free enterprise it collides the worst elements of both.

You know, That’s not how I saw it at all. He wasn’t making fun of poor people, but was pointing a finger at the system and circumstances in the world currently that has even made this “a thing”. These consequences seem to just underline that even more. And It wouldn’t have mattered what was written on the sign, just

I am continually disappointed by the amount of people patting you on the back for this comment (or just generally agreeing with you, in other threads). I mean, you never fail to give your thoughtful, but assumptive and self-serving critique; I often look forward to it. It’s depressing to see so many others completely

None of what you named is remotely edgy. Not excusing his choice, but if you think going after Trump is edgy, you don’t get edge at all.

For the record: MakerStudios was in the right, and Youtube is in the right.

“I picked something that seemed absurd to me—That people on Fiverr would say anything for 5 dollars.”Could have been anything really, for example “I eat shit for breakfast”

It’s not much for a fighting game character.

Great article. But Is 10% really a significant portion of the games cost? My issue here is you make it sound like she was a brutally expensive character that was pay to win. But for a 60 dollar game a 6 dollar piece of DLC isn’t that crazy or even unheard of even if she wasn’t vastly overpowered.

The meta of Super Smash Bros always does this. Everyone gets pissed that a character has some kind of apparent exploit, and then they realize, “Oh no, wait, actually there are 50 ways to counter it, we just weren’t thinking outside the box at first but we decided to complain before even trying,” and then, and only

Really? So Lighting will solve the super pixellated low res normals and base textures?

The textures look like shit. There’s no way around that.

Oh another thing, Yakuza 3's localization got a lack of flack for cutting out content, almost everything related to the hostess clubs as sidequests/ activities.

Can’t tell if sarcastic. Textures have these things called Normal Maps and other stuff that dictates how ligthing affects them. The difference is light an day for a good made high resolution texture. Check out this single mod, out of many very well made tex mods on the nexus:
