This is such b.s. When I was pregnant, french fries were like the ONLY vice I was allowed (no wine, no sushi, no stinky cheese, no freaking cold cuts). We are working on #2 right now, and if/when I get pregnant I promise you that I will pretend I never read this.

Mellody Hobson is the Chairman of the Board at Dreamworks Animation, but her “day job” is as President of Ariel Investments in Chicago. She is an all-time boss, and a hugely important and rare minority female in finance. She also happens to be married to George Lucas.

Cosigned. At first glance, I was like “this guy is the physical embodiment of everything I hate” ... but he actually has amazing stage presence and the chops to pull in a very disinterested crowd. His band is having a ton of fun up there, and so was I by the second or third song.

Well done! I have no idea if a supporting role in a well-reviewed, but little-seen, indie film merits the amount of attention she gets, but SURE, WHY NOT fashion industry!

My absolute favorite example of this is Kate Bosworth.... name one thing she has been in over the last five years, yet she still just appears in fashion magazines and even on covers as recently as the past year! Kate Hudson at least had a legitimate career happening in the early aughts, and she runs with a very A-list

I was delayed at LaGuardia with my son when he was five months old for over five hours, and since I was traveling alone without a stroller I wore him the entire time in the Ergo 360. It is 100% worth it. My back was sore the next day, but it could have been far worse. And he loved facing out and people watching while

I have been really happy with Old Navy, surprisingly enough. They are cheeeeap and the pants are stretchy and comfy. Granted, I am mostly in the “sitting on the couch” school of athletic wear rather than rigorous athletics, so grain-of-salt.

I have a 15 month old. When he was 8-12 months it was all about the flap books! I recommend the classic “Where’s Spot” series,“Playtown” by Roger Priddy, and the Fisher Price “Little People” flap books. The FP ones have very sturdy cardboard flaps that they cannot rip off.

Yes... but he was very young (he is 34/35 now). He is a year older than me and went to my high school. He was in a band but they weren’t very good... guess that hasn’t changed! Zing!

It’s two-fold. 1. You want to look pregnant and not oddly-shaped in photos, and holding it helps emphasize that. 2. If you are big / having a big baby it is a relief to lift it up a bit!

This argument makes literally no sense here in the old US of A. Mothers are entitled to 12 weeks of unpaid FMLA coverage and that is it. You can take FMLA when you need to nurture and care for someone else - albeit in your case it would be an ill spouse or parent. Caring for a fledgling life is the same thing in this

I heard her on WTF podcast and now I totally irrationally love them both... so happy for them!

That is what I had always heard... you either love it and think it is the nectar of the gods (me) or it tastes completely like dish-soap. Once I read that, I felt bad for all the years I said “how bad can it be?” to friends!

I was four DAYS post-partum for my 32nd birthday and literally don’t remember it. I demanded sushi and a glass of wine, but made it through neither before falling asleep (again).

Do it! They send a really nice note declining your invite and congratulating you on your marriage. It is a form letter, but a nice memento for your album or whatever. Same with birth announcements!

I agree. A 7 year old saying “What’s up NAME” would be the oddest thing in the world to me. Especially if it is the friend of your kid, because then how do you discipline / have authority / etc. I grew up in a strictly Mr. & Mrs. environment and still call some of my best friends’ parents Mr. & Mrs. I am 33!

I am 33 and my first kid just turned 1, so we haven’t done the school thing yet, but I heard that no one calls friends’ parents or parents’ friends by Mr. & Mrs. anymore. I find that HORRIFYING. I am not their friend. I am the parent of their friend. Why would a 7 year old call me by my first name? It is so

He is married to Emma Thompson IRL and essentially a stay-at-home-dad since she is SUCH a boss. Sigh. Swoon. Love her.

My mom had her hip replaced six weeks ago and she also has an a-fib! It went GREAT - no need to worry at all! The recovery is slow, but easy - her pain was very manageable. It is great that you are going to visit, since it is a lot of nursing for the first few days - she will need a lot of help getting around. Best

Totally have contemplated busting out my old Molly doll and becoming a crazy doll lady.....
