Makes it a perfect thing to do a little before Election Day. Voters have very short memories these days.

“Republicans wouldn’t support it, so we need to meet them halfway... A third of the way... A quarter of the way... We’ll just see what their idea is and implement that.”
Anyone ever watch Veep? Remember Ken the pollster? The president wouldn’t do anything until Ken’s data said it was okay.
While I agree that canceling all student debt with the stroke of a pen is an unworkable solution to a very real multivariate problem, I have to massively disagree with you about means testing. Means testing is an antiquated notion that often increases the costs of programs while offering insufficient and inefficient…
It’s a wildly popular position with broad support among voters that would measurably make life better for tons of people. ... So obviously it’s a real head scratcher for Dems.
Some people can ignore domestic violence and rape accusations, but you better not threaten a dog.
Is it though? This is definitely his biggest thing post #metoo though. Hard to imagine the Good Wife wrapped up in 2016, but time flies when you’re having ... a time.
I get the point you’re trying to make — that maintenance and repair are submerged costs in the owner experience and rarely accounted for when considering the appreciating value of a home.
They do require maintenance, but the age of a house doesnt have any direct correlation to its value. In US real estate the value of the house is also intrinsically linked to the land its on because they are so rarely sold seperately. While they are sometimes considered depreciating assetts for tax purposes, in reality…
That’s not a concrete rule. A huge percentage of houses gain value faster than the cost of upkeep and maintenance.
I will happily buy your house for less than you paid for it. I will do it today.
“they did a tone-deaf special with Megyn Kelly where they minimized Josh’s abuse and made their daughters tell America that being molested was not so bad.”
Is that his mug shot? Is he attempting to look innocent?
Also, “we didn’t want to inquire into his criminal record.”
But he didn’t buy from the dealership, remember? He bought it privately from the literal conman that worked there. There’s not a universe where I trust a guy willing to sell his private car like that.
Dude. You’re blowing my mind with this reality-warping option.
“Freelance salesman” as in “We don’t want to pay employment taxes, so we’re going to 1099 this guy even though he meets the definition of an employee?”
If they are unwilling to do that they could potentially give him a car worth $10,000 and it would also be satisfactory. Perhaps a certain 2016 Mazda CX-5.
And while the dealer is trying to make it right for Fredricks, he’s still out of $10,000 and a car.
Once again the age old lesson bites someone in the ass: No title? No cash transfers hands.
