I agree with you, but I would say a distinction should be made between legal and undocomented immigrants. I’m all for a path to legalization, citizenship, etc. especially in places like the rural southwest where they are needed to fill jobs in, say, agriculture. But borders and immigration control are necessary.

The thing that really get to me about this is that its such a black and white debate based on feelings. The right is xenophobic or racist and wants everybody out; the left wants to be humanitarian and welcome everybody in (which is, of course, a good thing to do).
