4-point harnesses are contentious because you can “submarine” and get squeezed out the bottom opening in a hard enough crash. I think at this point they’re mainly used for autocross, so it’s probably a combination of keeping the driver in control of the car, and greater safety at relatively low speeds.

I think it is still lost. The 2017 Golf/GTI in the USA market only had the 3-door for a few months until they ran out of stock (I bet they were just 2016 left-overs).

Agreed. But everyone is afraid to sell 3-door hatches here. We even lost the 3-door Golf for a bit.

This green they had on these was amazing, you hardly see them in the US but if I had to pick another color for my car, this would be it.

I love that steering wheel and gauges but that floating/tacked on screen is awful. It looks like such a gigantic terrible afterthought.

Turo also has pretty bad customer service. Over xmas I got totally screwed by them when I tried to pick up the Tesla I rented. Owner never showed, Turo basically said “sorry too bad here is a refund.” I had to fight with them for hours to get additional help. Ultimately I ended up getting an S3 from Audi On Demand

Shouldn’t the dude that rented it be on the hook for some of the damages?

It is just frustrating when you pay into a company for years, and just want them to fix something correctly.

I’ve been on the consumer end with an adjuster or two, while they may not be out to screw people over, they are on the side of keeping payouts low for their employer at the expense of the end customer.

Rule #1 of Insurance: The insurance company shall fuck over the insured under any and all circumstances. All other rules: See rule #1.

The fine print really don’t cover how adjustment process is handled. Given all the hassle I’m pretty sure this is why large rental companies now are installing an array of camera’s to document the car condition when it rolls off the lot. If they have a major loss it’s going to go to re-insurance and this kind of

wagon all the things!!!

For your consideration...

Remember me?

I couldn’t agree more and you chose one of my favorite wagons to show. I don’t want a lifted wagon with plastic body cladding to make it look “rugged.” If I want ruggedness, I’ll buy a truck or a jeep. I want a true wagon. I would kill for a Levorg STI or an RS6 here in the states. I want the storage space that they

Shooting brakes are rad indeed. Here are two of my favorites:

The liftback.

Wagons, period. And don’t give me that “crossovers are wagons” bullshit because NO THEY ARE NOT. Would you tell your child medicine is candy? No, because then they’d take too much and die, just like wagons are nowadays.

Think of the children, people!

Finally, someone in the autojourno department acknoledges this fact with due intensity - it’s driving me crazy as well! Also, it’s not just that you can’t see where you’ve been, in many modern cars you can’t even see where you’re going either. Many cars now have massive or even two A-pillars, which basically mean

There is no replacement for actually being able to see around the vehicle you’re driving.
