I thought the payoff moment was going to be Mike deciding to look through his telescope one last time, and seeing the big Santa balloon.

I think they're building up to a payoff where Carol decides that she doesn't want to stick around with people who treat her partner so badly, even if they are the literal last people on Earth.

Don't cows need to be pregnant/nursing a calf in order to provide milk?

Phil 2.0 angrily holding the gun to Phil's head was pretty scary.

Did they ever say what happened to the cow?

I don't think it's unreasonable if they've all decided that it's not worth saving the human race. Assuming they don't find any other survivors out there, their children would likely have to participate in some level of inbreeding in order to successfully repopulate. Not only is that gross, but that's putting the

I zoned in and out on this (terrible) episode. Was it ever explained why the Waldorf School kids and teachers were all wearing hats?

Leonard does plenty to please his own ego rather than consider Penny's feelings. Like their "beta test" phase where he told her what flaws to fix, and when he edited her college paper rather than staying out of it as she had request - all in the name of "helping" Penny.

I don't think Bernadette is a bitch. She's frustrated that Howard is a baby. They handled it better in earlier seasons, though, like when he briefly moved in with her and wanted a snack after sex plus a chauffeur to the dentist, and Bernadette just kicked him out

It annoys me that they didn't bring up Penny's Vegas marriage to what's-his-name. No, she didn't cheat on Leonard, but it was pretty careless of her to just not realize that her Vegas marriage was binding. Wouldn't they have had to get a marriage license for it to be real? That would require some effort on her part,

I was under the impression that he bought it once Amy stormed out and he started thinking about relationships … not necessarily that he WANTS to marry her, but because by this stage of their relationship it's the socially expected move. Which his conversation with Leonard and Penny about setting a date probably

Well, doesn't Sheldon want to be Amy's boyfriend because he's uncomfortable with the idea of her being with anyone else? I think he'll eventually learn that he should only be with her because he wants to make her happy … which will likely lead to the realization that he needs to let her go if he's unwilling to give

I don't think so. She's trying to be a good sport when Sheldon pulls all his crap, and then she loses patience after a while.

I liked Sheldon's comment about following a show until the end, even as it gets on in years and isn't enjoyable anymore.

I can see Sheldon proposing because it's an expected social ritual, not necessarily because he's ready to marry Amy.

Sam Simon would turn over in his grave, if it wasn't filled with some veteran.

Makes sense. Especially if Phil was as big a prick in the old world as he's been in the new one.

I don't think they're estranged. Phil's happy memory of his family, plus the family photo, in the pilot included Jason Sudekis. Sure, he could've been longing for happier times, but I don't think so.

Especially considering that they met Melissa after unexpectedly crashing into her car.

But she's not being petty. She doesn't go out of her way to be mean to him. She doesn't really interact with him at all, in fact, aside from calling him out when he's spewing out yet another stupid lie. If he's stop lying and conniving then maybe he'd get more respect or kindness from Melissa.
