I read the book with zero knowledge of It, so the whole derry scene seemed a bit odd to me

In the book, Jake used the first trip to derry as a recon mission. He wanted to make sure frank actually did kill his family, and that it wasnt just a hazy tale from a slow janitor. Once that was confirmed and he failed to save everyone, he went back and took out frank when he knew they'd be alone

Let's say the guy my mom was supposed to bang actually died in nam

(Adjusts nerd glasses) ah, excuse me? That was a *three-part* leap

In the book, it was explained that Jake was scared that any future items that were out of place would draw unwanted scrutiny. He described his phone as an "unexploded bomb" in his pocket. The scene where he absentmindedly looks at it in the suit shop is supposed to hint at that

"You shouldn't be here" is the "obdurate past" of the TV series

I just read it last week before starting the TV series, so my memory is fresh. Here's how it went:

The 25% or so of the book where Amberson trailed Oswald was a slog for me. I was beyond bored with it

I disagree with that assessment. I liked the Derry parts. I also always had it in the back of my mind that

I know reading the book, I sure felt 5 years was too long

The book was in serious need of some editing. This series saw the filler and trimmed most of it

Whoa oh debedazzling Betty, ram-a-lam

Tune tune tune.. Pick drops intro hollow body.. perfect

I'm sure the information can be gleamed from magazines and books left around.

I don't peg him as "nerd". He's clearly supposed to be autistic or an aspie

The Saviors seem kinda retarded. Pointless filler ep. RIP chunky lesbian doctor whose name I always forget. Melissa? Lisa?

I somewhat agreed with his core criticism, which boiled down to "we knew mags and Carol were going to go bitchcakes on these jabronis and the waiting for it was fun at first but soon got tedious"

I like "growlers" better than "walkers" and certainly more than "deadheads". I was embarrassed for the good people of my home town for coming up with the worst zombie nickname on the show

This is why I'm not a fan of releasing an entire season all at once. I have a theory that we'll find out Claire was behind Lucas' release, but people who've already finished know if that's a thing or not, so we're not all on the same page to discuss it

Liberal use of the phrase "let me be clear " as well
