Being the car nerd I am, I’ve been noticing the cars in the show as well. The fancy ones the government folks drive are my favorite. They almost look like Mercedes-Benzes.

Had a 2017 Focus hatchback as a rental car this past autumn when my car (Mazda6) was in the body shop being repaired from being rear-ended at a stoplight. The Focus was an okay small-ish car, with the exception of the transmission. I was shocked at how bad it really was. I even texted my friend who is a Ford

Wish I could. But all the shows are too far from me.

Exactly how I feel about my Sunbird. She’s a crap car but I love her.

With great nameplates like LeMans, Sunbird, and Grand Am, it’s a surprise that this brand could die such a death.”

As the owner of a 2016 Mazda6, I’m just sad that the Apple CarPlay/Android Auto update is like $300.

I’ve had my ‘16 6 i Touring since new (got it with 6 miles on it in October 2015). I still love it, although I worry about it becoming an orphan car someday with the CUV takeover.

My father-in-law has a similar model year and mileage Grand Vitara and it is in about 1,000 times worse condition than this one. Still trucking along, though. I recently fixed the four-wheel-drive on it by reattaching a vacuum line that a stray rock or stick had knocked loose during a deer hunting excursion.

We have a 2013 CX-5 and a 2016 6, both bought new. My experience with them both was fine as far as purchasing, but service left something to be desired.

At least they aren’t cancelling the car altogether...yet.

I want a Volt. Even now, with GM giving the car the axe, I still think it’s one of the most interesting designs (mechanically and aesthetically) they’ve put out in recent years.

Thanks, man. I’m a GM FWD nerd in general. I just ordered a factory 1990 Pontiac brochure to go along with the car, too.

That’s okay, I understand. My wicked ex-stepmother drove a Mazda Millenia and even though I own a Mazda and love the brand, I hate Millenias because of that woman.

Thanks! As far as parts, I’ve been lucky. So far, RockAuto has had everything I need for amazingly low prices. The valve cover gasket, for example, was $1.64. The serpentine and A/C belts together were $10.00. The air filter was $4.00.

I wish. They’re all way too far away from me, unfortunately.

Same.

Because I like it, it’s fun and easy to work on, and I’ll likely never find another one like it because they all died years ago.

*Prepares to get made fun of.*

Lol. I doubt this guy even knows what Jalopnik is. He was an older gentleman that had worked there for years. He was really nice, though.

For what it’s worth, my friend bought a new 2016 Dart GT in late 2015 and has put a TON of miles on it with no issues. Doesn’t automatically make it a fundamentally good car but she has had good luck with hers, at least.
