This was me bascially.

I wanted a car with some reputation for reliability, and being driver focused, and fun. I also wanted something comfortable because, I’m old now. Brash, hard rides in spartan interiors wasn’t what I wanted.. the HP numbers and performance and driver experience were certainly there - but less

I mean even the new CX-50 comes with a torsion beam (lipstick on a pig)

Toyota design is like a pizza cutter, all edge, no point.
To me that is trying harder to cover up their blandness.
The car is so tapioca that a bunch of edges and vents and swoops are all they have left in the tool box to make the car even some what appealing to mass market consumers.

Just commenting to confirm that yes: Mazda water based paint is very very thin and chips very very easily.  it’s on par with any Subaru I’ve ever owned though, so take that as you will.

“I think Mazda has delusions of grandeur.”

I think they have a very good product for what it is, and how they advertise it.
e.g.: if they were taking swipes at Mercedes and other Luxury positioned brands, I’d agree, but they aren’t. They advertise a fun engaging drive, style and some premium features. Not “Luxury”.

..all those comments I keep leaving about how most reviewers miss what Mazda is doing must’ve struck a chord??

Mazda isn’t trying to “be as nice as luxury brands” what they are doing is putting in premium features as standard - features that typically require hefty mark-ups and get into premium trim levels on other

Hang out on any car-related sub-reddit and it doesn’t take long to find people talking out their wazoo about cars.
....try speaking from actual experience with the platforms??!!??
*Howling and rage ensues*
Sadly most car themed sites are getting to be this way.

I love my Mazda 3.

Race car and Motorcycle in the garage but this thing has tires that look like they are made for a granny car - methinks seller is trying too hard and this thing was probably whipped within an inch of its life. I don’t trust it, ND.

I’d take an Subaru Levorg STI.

I’m not exactly a proponent of the battery-powered car future, however:
If I were the owner of a gas station / franchise, especially one of those that is basically a one-stop-shop for every-effing-thing but just getting gas (so all of them) I’d think I’d want chargers to bring in more business since what I really am

There are many unrealistic expectations with this car for people that have never driven it. I kept my expectations low with the GRC, and I’ve learned to authentically love it for what it is, and accepting it for what it isn’t. And everyone buying this should approach it the same way.

...as someone with a car that

I’m approaching my 50's with Hockey Knees and Hips to boot.
(Tendy problems) Not only do I have the same issues clutching, but also: getting into and out of lower sprung cars is a chore. Thankfully my Mazda 3 has a great Auto and isn’t too low, and is really comfortable too. My old bones thank me every time I get out

Ugh!

psssst... they’re the same corporate oligarchies selling you something, and they didn’t get altruistic and stop polluting just to sell you a battery powered car.

What we should do is stop handing out money to people with more than enough money to afford these cars, and stop subsidizing them and big oil in the same spending bills.

When most of the slides are from the same brand is it really a slide show?

The thing that has annoyed me most has been (again) having wipers that tuck under the trailing edge of the hood, and needing to put them in “service mode” with ancient ritual arts before I can lift them up off the windshield.

Even when I do the two wiper salute, I still have to clean out that spot which is often

Would you pay this for a Buick Century in the same condition?

...No one would, so why do Cadillac badges change anything about that?

No Dice.
