Hmmm. I’d love an excuse to head back to Austin. Perhaps I can convince my wife to go (she’s not much into politics) if I say we’ll go to Pinballz afterwards. It would be worth the drive from Houston if I got to protest during the day and play pinball while drinking at night.

Awww, thanks! I’m actually in Dallas. I will be making the trek down. We’re hoping one of our colleagues speaks at the event!!! :)

My girlfriend and I will be there too! Way cool that you’re in Austin, I love your commenting.

Me, too!!!

It’s already supported by the most notable organizations for women/POC/LGBT in the nation, I don’t know that creating another separate organization would be more productive than Human Rights Campaign or Amnesty International or the NAACP or the National Organization for Women.

Fuck yes! I’ll be participating in the Austin march.

There are 26K registered in Minnesota. It’s going to be huge. Since I live 2 miles north of the State Capitol, I really have no reason NOT to go, -35F windchill be damned!

Sometimes there are no answers, only the abyss gazing back.

I’m shocked because James Franco is a VERY SERIOUS ARTISTE.

While I would normally laud any movie that encourages geronticide of the Boomers, I cannot support one that at the same time celebrates the garbage Millennial techbros as an alternative. Fuck that shit.

I’m interested to know more about penis jousting. It sounds fun, but potentially too dangerous. Is there protection? Is there scoring, or is everyone involved a winner? Is it a spectator sport? Is it 1 on 1 or a group activity? Is there a league I can join? Do I need training, or can any ameteur play?

I love Bryan Cranston. I hate James Franco. Why does this movie exist.

I think I’m just amazed that so many words can be devoted to a fucking James Franco movie, but no one here could come up with anything for something like say, Queen Sugar. Which was directed by women, (all episodes) huh?

Couple question. One: why would Bryan Cranston do this stupid movie and, Two: what’s the story with James Franco? Will just do anything you ask him to?

I was raped during my second year of graduate school and it completely altered my career. I hope this young woman finishes her education at some point, even though it’s tremendously difficult to do so after something like this.

“Being expelled is really a life-changing punishment,” he said. “I think we as an institution have a duty to take that very seriously.”

At one level sure, it would be easier for them to just toss this issue to someone else. But I don’t think that’s a realistic approach. There are plenty on disciplinary issues that universities handle that don’t rise to the level of involving the police. The university is going to have a disciplinary system for those

I think the unspoken thing here is that the school cares only about not being sued. They’ve created a system that basically has inoculated themselves from successful litigation.

Since the only punishment the school can dole out is not letting him attend, I don’t see the problem with not having the same standard as a criminal trial.

I have no comments left about universities that don’t take rape on campus seriously, and protect their male students from punishment. I just wanted to say bravo to students - like the young woman in the photograph - who use high profile university events like graduation ceremonies to denounce the university’s
