Can we make this a Federal Law, yesterday. And for all roads. If you are on the road, speed the fuck up.
Good.
I’m surprised no one tried to think of a way to charge $1500 for some color accent package and send them from the factory that way. There was clearly a demand for the color pop.
No horse in the race regarding the splitter guard. I dont own the car or any car that would have one. I thought the pop in color was a nice touch even after I found out it was supposed to be thrown away.
This car is enormous - a widebody like this would probably put it over the width limit where you have to put the 5 orange markers on it like a Raptor.
And for that matter, ANY of the last gen Camaro. Chevrolet did all the heavy lifting for you. Buy a cheap Camaro, and there are plenty of those around, order whatever big HP engine and transmission combo you want from The General and get busy with the wrenches.
I’m just going to leave this here...
‘Everything is made in such massive volumes and there are so many speculators that there are no one-of-ones or limited/low production cars to collect’
This, and I would think that since the rental car company has your credit card info, if you returned a car all beat up, that’s coming out of your pocket, so I’d think most people would take better care of the rental than their own car, since if you nick or scrape your own car, you can just live with it.
To be fair, there are essentially NO new 4runners available in the entire country. But that should change in the next month or so. Hertz is just following the pricing for these models, though the Mach E’s do look a bit high.
I think these brute trucks are getting way out of hand, but I like the idea for this beast. Why the hell not?
Financially this is a really bad idea, but as a lover of cool stuff I whole-heartedly endorse it.
First and foremost: not judging, you do you.
While I’d like to think it’s a simple, stick, sporty car like the Miata (because I have one), I have to ask: what car are the kids obsessed with nowadays? Because that seems to be what drives nostalgia and determines the classics. That said:
Obvious choices? CTR, M2, Blackwings, LC500, Supra
Considering the Supra is about to get axed in a couple years I’d argue the manual one fits all three (and sort of 4 because it was also unloved at launch). Last year the manual take rate was 65% but it was still only 1700 cars. I would bet the total production run will be relatively tiny for a normal production car…
I’m thinking of a vehicle that’s a rare, high performance version of a more common car. That way, in the future, those more common versions can be cannibalized to keep the rare version going.
