On my Windows 11 machine, I’ve taken to opening the File Manager to see the image file I want and then copy/paste into the comment like it’s text.

I see your Shelby Omni and I raise you a Shelby Lancer.

2008 Caliber SRT-4. I was going to say Neon but it was at least an ok car before being SRT’d. The Caliber is absolutely a bad car before SRT got their hands on it. This thing did 0-60 in under 6 seconds and pulled .84g’s on the skid pad. It could beat a lot of much more expensive cars around a track and really didn’t

Chrysler loves to build vehicles that you think couldn’t possibly be any dumber...and then totally redeem themselves. Well, maybe not totally redeem themselves in the case of the Caliber SRT4, but they took one of the worst cars they’ve ever built and made it pretty fun.

I tell my kids on a near daily basis “we don’t need it” and I don’t think I’ve ever seen an electric can opener in someone’s house. I mainly asked because this all sounds a lot like the financial advice style that says ‘just stop buying that cup of coffee & avocado toast and you’ll save $10,000’ while totally

Kind of the same for the Typhoon/Cyclone.

The Honda Del Sol VTEC. To preface, I have a soft spot for the Del Sol by virtue of having previously owned one in Si trim, but the VTEC is much closer to what the Del Sol should have been from the get-go, provided you’re willing to overlook the FWD drivetrain. The entry-level S trim with its pokey 105 HP just

The Abarth 500.

Dodge Omni GLH

Panther-platform Mercury Marauder. Body on frame barge from a mid-tier brand BUT with upgraded suspension and braking and boasting 302 horsepower from a DOHC Modular V8 instead of the wimpy 235 horsepower from the SOHC. Plus, you get mistaken for a cop all the time, so everyone gets out of your way.

I remember those Altima SE-R models. I always thought they looked great.

Came here to say this exactly! One of my first cars was an Altima with the 2.5l I4, and I coveted the 3.5l SE-R. Still has one of the best factory wheel designs, and the darkened taillights made it.

2nd gen Buick Regal, hmmm..

Eh but the Lancer had a cool version prior like the 1600 and was a fairly successful rally car. I was hesitant to put it to but I guess it fits. Definitely had the glow up of the century.

I’m biased somewhat, but the GT version of the American Ford Escort (not the Mazda Protege based version) was decent. It was my first car. Some of the features such as, AC, steering wheel mounted cruise control; the “information center” and power adjustable mirrors, could be found on lower trim levels too, but the GT

A typical household might have been paying the phone company $50-100/mo plus more for additional lines and fees for more services (call waiting - extra, and dont get me started on per minute long distance charges).

While the smart phone and internet obviously weren’t available for purchase, do you have any actual data that people weren’t making tons of frivolous purchases 30 years ago? They still had store catalogues getting mailed out, door to door salesmen, and the home shopping network to buy random stuff from. McDonalds &

Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution.

The Lancer was a boring, cheap, and poorly built economy car where it was a race to see if it rusted out around itself before the engine spun a bearing (or similar).

The Evo on the other hand was a cool looking, fire breathing rally car that could hang with BMW M3s of the same era (in the

Inflation adjusted dollars doesn’t show the real problem with car affordability today.

It needs a belt service and some tires in the near future
