Oof, I hadn’t heard of that (assumed it was just solidarity with indigenous children as it originated), but I sadly wouldn’t doubt the alternate usage as well, although it seems not to have largely made it to Toronto yet.

Hey, I once saw a Ram sporting a EVERY CHILD MATTERS flag, although that has to be the one decent person with a beflagged pickup ever.

I feel like the Golf R thing is at least a bit regional, I swear up in the Toronto area, Golf R’s are all driven by guys who know who Dinosaur Jr is, and frankly all look a bit like J Mascis if he were a middle-aged professional.

I accept this award on behalf of bdad jokes everywhere!”

You’d probably have to do some digging to confirm it’s actually import-eligible, but the W246 B-Class was imported to Canada in ICE-form (and they’re pretty cheap now!), and because it was sent to the US in EV form, FMVSS-compliant parts exist if they’re not on the Canadian market cars.

Pulling out of the greys for the extremely valid omission of the XB Falcon.

Oh agreed, the gripe is less “how could the product planners be so stupid!,” and more “were the engineers all distracted having fun with the S197 Mustang?” Like you say, the production version understood the assignment

Yes, auto only, although given the take rate on the other V’s, it probably wasn’t the biggest issue.

They did an XLR-V! It had a supercharged Northstar with like 450hp!

If only it got the option of the S-Type R’s supercharged V8 - nothing wrong with the T-Bird as is (as a retiree cruiser), just that the parts existed, and it would’ve been appropriate to the original it was aping.

Nobody tried to implicate that the world was becoming the sort of hellscape that you need a Prowler for, and there wasn’t a psychotic legion of Bob Eaton stans.

The Cybertruck is kind of appreciably weird, but it’s ruined by the people who love the Cybertruck.

With that budget, you can easily afford possibly the most interesting crossover ever built, and have a healthy budget left over to deal with the mediocre fuel economy.
