yeah, i could imagine if you had an avengers assemble with all the monsters in the end it would end up as some sort of parody. Frankenstein's monster as hulk and wolf-man as captain america? Dracula would be iron man.

I still think a shared monster universe could be cool, although I did like the van helsing movie so I'm basically an idiot.

the player of games if a cracking read, but i agree that the other books in the culture series are a bit frumpy. also the wasp factory is no fun at all.
