Got my Switch yesterday and spent the entire day playing BOTW and Fast RMX. Smallest Child joined in as soon as she got home from school. We took turns at Zelda, amd when we needed a break we would go head-to-head on Fast. Probably more of the same today, except I unfortunately have to work first.

My local Gamestop was sold out Thursday night. Target sold out by 7:30 AM Friday. Best Buy and TRU sold out around 9:15, for 10:00 opening. I got mine at TRU but I think there are a lot of people in my area who are going to spend the next few weeks hunting.

Too right, they had Halle Berry after all. She is a wicked actress, you can see it in Monster’s Ball and a few other movies. But Storm got really bad writing and direction in just about all the movies.

Fast RMX on launch. I Am Setsuna. Maybe Just Dance because I know that will get some love in my family. Soon, Disgaea 5, Mario Kart, Splatoon 2. Xenoblade Chronicles 2. Story of Seasons. Skyrim. Shin Megami Tensei, Fire Emblem Echoes, Stardew Valley. Those are all things I’d like to play, and now I can play them on

OH NO THIS IS TERRIBLE NINTENDO IS DOOOOOOOOMED... Such a bad business decision, why would Nintendo want to tap into those trillions of dollars of casual touchscreen games?!?! So bad for consumers, now we have a machine that can play on TV or portable but ALSO may have some games that are portable only and may cost

Thank you, Ethan! I keep saying exactly this, the neon Joy-Con are SO Nintendo. Nintendo can make you crazy with their business decisions and weird release schedules, but they are great at inspiring fun. Neon harlequin controllers go great with that. (Also, I still have that magenta GBC and a few games, including the

No, but honestly, Mayhew’s movements as Chewie are very distinctive. I rewatched the old Muppet Show episode where the SW guys were the special guests recently. They had Hamill, Daniels and Baker, and “Chewbacca” - NOT Mayhew - on stage for a very brief scene, and after about two seconds it was very obvious this

At last, the beta version of the Matrix is here.

Yeah, it’s pretty much totally untrue. The Switch supports multiple types of SD cards in all conceivable sizes, the size of the game install quoted above is only for a digital purchase, and last but not least that “game” is in reality a bundle of two games.

Might be worth mentioning that 32GB is for two games, not one. It’s Dragon Quest Heroes I and II in a bundle. Saying there is a game too big for the internal storage before the system has even launched is clickbait for the LOLNINTENDOOM crowd. Saying there is a bundle too big sounds a bit more reasonable.

I love how Gal Gadot, the dark horse so many people were saying couldn’t possibly “be” Wonder Woman because she is too slim and can’t act and would totally wreck Batman v. Superman, turned out to be the one shining star in BvS, is just about the ONLY thing people are looking forward to in Justice League, and is well

I’m pretty sure this is almost 100% about occupying shelf real estate in game stores. 3DS games take up too little space on the shelves, making the Nintendo section of the store seem pathetically small even though there are dozens of 3DS games present. If Switch used 3DS-sized cases Nintendo would just be swallowed

Eh. I’ll withhold final judgement until I see one in person, but going by these photos it’s not as cool as the Queen Anne’s Revenge from the last movie. I have that one, and it’s amazing. There were rumors back then that TLG had planned a massive Flying Dutchman around the $200 mark, I wonder what happened to that.

This is silly. Of course people are in the running to be the next Doctor, just like there are people in the running to be the next Bond, Batman and every other franchise lead. It’s not official, there is no work being done on it yet, the candidates will change several times before it actually happens, and it’s

You mean, exactly like Luke Skywalker, who was the only pilot capable of destroying the Death Star the very first time he sat in the cockpit of an X-Wing, and was a strong enough lightsaber fighter to beat Darth Vader off multiple times even though his entire course of training consisted of a three-hour flight with

ROTJ is also singular in its Hebrew form (shuvo shel hajedi), but let’s not forget the translation comes from the Eighties, AKA “the Dark Ages when nobody cared if your translation was accurate or, in fact, had anything to do with the movie”. Which is why the entire Alien series is known by the weird and increasingly

Trufact, the first time I heard the term SJW, I thought it was meant as a compliment. I still own the term with pride. Like, in what mindset is fighting for social justice supposed to be a bad thing? Do people go around thinking “today I’m going to fight for social INjustice, gosh I’m so great!”?

I’m not usually the “snark on the new/old costume” type, but the ripped T-shirt over spandex look makes him look very much undressed. Like he’s a red-skinned guy wearing nothing but a skimpy T-shirt. This is... unfortunate. Wasn’t there some other compromise that would have worked?

Some of this stuff is also mentioned in the DVD commentary, which is a lot of fun to listen to.

I didn’t see anything wrong with its portrayal, unless your friends are concerned about Bruce Wayne sort of “accidentally” adopting Dick. It’s a really quick beat and a “wait, when did I get a son?!?” moment. But almost immediately afterwards the movie really starts celebrating adoptive relationships, like Evan points
