Because spying on citizens without cause violates the 4th Amendment? Or maybe that’s just me because nobody seems to give flying fuck about the 4th Amendment these days nor in the last 40 years.

Why can’t Snowden be a criminal who vastly overstepped whistleblower status when he revealed PRISM and why can’t the WaPo be hypocritical in its complicity in that crime?

I’m not sure that he ‘overstepped’ as a whistleblower - this wasn’t really something you could only partially expose. “Um, hey everyone, the NSA is doing some real shady shit but I can’t explain what it is because that’s against the whistleblower rules, so you’ll have to ask them yourselves.”
