I don’t think those books were written as predictions. Just cautionary tales.
It’s not an oversimplification. If you watched the movie, you would know that all of the actors played various characters of different ethnicity, gender and age. It was the film’s central conceit.
That is a way oversimplification of what’s going on in the story. I’ll admit that I’ve only read the book, but there’s no implication that these are the same person or that they should be similar in any way.
So this should be a fun comments section.
