That’s a weird metric for greatness.
That’s a weird metric for greatness.
I love GoT too, but you got to be realistic... GoT is NOTHING but a tits-dragon diversion compared to the heights and lows of TP. No matter how consistently crazy or amazing those actors are... nothing in GoT comes close to some of the impactful moments in TP.
Yup. It’s also telling that he’ll be remembered far more as Khal Drogo than Aquaman.
I dunno. Twin Peaks: The Return was this year and is already near the top of my favorite pieces of art ever. GoT will need better writing than it did this last season to try and reach that peak.
There have been some brilliant TV shows over the last few years but so far Mr. Robot is the only one* that’s made me tear up. That scene at the mosque and the one with Angela...
That’s a very good point but it’s harder not the think that there’s a method to Whiterose’s madness because of how composed and in control that she always comes off. Out of pretty much all of the character’s on the show she’s been the one who’s come off as the most well adjusted, which is what makes her outright…
Here’s the email for those that didn’t see it...
For awhile now, I’ve been wondering if we’re going to find out that Elliot’s dad was outright abusive. The “oops, I pushed you out a window” is such a weird detail that I have to assume either Elliot is misremembering it, or he’s remembering it too well.
I’ve liked the season, but this was an episode I really needed.
I always love an Elliot-centric episode so we get more showcases for Rami’s brilliant work. And I loved how it was shot to look like a movie (in widescreen!) after the opening scene. Looked beautiful.
Last year, I said that very brief moments of this show are among the sweetest things I’ve seen on television. I am ready to extend that description to a good portion of this episode. After last week, it’s a relief to feel the moved to unanguished tears. Until Our Child President showed up, I could not fully rule out…
Also I’m really appreciating that the show doesn’t seem to actually be full sci-fi with the “time travel/alternate dimensions” thing. While it’s fun to analyze the allusions to it that’ve been peppered throughout the season, one of the things that I love the most about this show is how grounded it is behind all of the…
Yeah in what’s already been a banner season for him performance-wise this episode really stands out because it showcased just how good he is with nuance when the plot momentum and the mind trickery take a back seat.
God damn, what a gut wrenching episode. Rami should be considered for another Emmy for this one alone.
I’ve said a lot of glowing things about Mr. Robot over the years but never quite thought that I’d say this...that was goddamn delightful
I think Malek deserves all the emmys for this one.
I wonder how many people were actually voting. I tried a few times, but their process was horrible. There were about 50 demographic and marketing questions to answer before endorsing a specific show. If you wanted to vote for another show, you had to do the whole questionnaire again. :/
Amy Sherman-Palladino’s TV creations have always evoked a romantically vintage feel, like the beloved cozy world of G…
There Wolf, There Castle has a great handle on grammar, but boy are his comments painfully meandering and poorly written. I certainly don’t want to judge a Kinja commenter on the same points, but boy I hope he posts better in his future comments.
Brubaker? Samurai? Criminal underworld?
