Not even here did you find a place to mention neither Annihilation, nor Widows? Two masterpieces in their respective genres. How many of these other films will get talked about years from now? By my count three - A Quiet Place, Sorry to Bother You (both unique genre pieces in themselves, to the extent that StBY has a

Very much surprised to see Annihilation and Widows left off completely, along with Roma those are the 3 films from this year I think will still be most talked about years from now

If that’s what it were aiming for wouldn’t it have Black Panther no. 1?

No country mile for old men

I saw it in a packed outdoor screening. Everyone had a riot, laughing throughout and applauding at the end, so I’d say quite a few people thought it was great. For me it’s tied for 3rd best WA movie with Grand Budapest Hotel right after Moonrise Kingdom and Life Aquatic. Other people might have different tastes but no

No Luke Cage wasn’t “a pretty good show”, most of the time it was just about watchable, occasionally it elevated to good but very rarely in the second season. Heeaaps of filler. The best parts were mostly the musical bits.

That’s like saying “despite singing mostly out of tune, the band was terrific”

Too much merging would mean monopolies and then prices skyrocket, so careful what you wish for.

    Thank god

This could’ve been funny if the subject was less serious and the joke was actually good.

I wasn’t aware of that. Yeah I guess that makes her culpable, still perhaps not as much as the DNC for selling themselves to her like that.

Don’t forget the occupation wit mental illness and retrofuturistic looks. Honestly having finished the season, yeah it’s basically Legion but less funny, less superpowers and less terrific soundtrack moments. I have to think no one involved had seen Legion, otherwise the aesthetic similarities are a bit too much to be

They weren’t her employees, they were just committed to a candidate who had the same ideals (or lack thereof) and more or less the same sources of funding, and whom they mistakenly saw as more ‘electable’.

It’s not her fault she lost to Trump, the blame lies squarely with the Democratic Party establishment. It was their job to recognize the country was ripe for change and couldn’t get excited about a candidate who, in spite of eventually adopting most of Bernie’s progressive platform, never actually made it a focal

To be fair she did basically adopt most of Bernie’s platform at the DNC, but by that point it was way too late; the vast majority of real progressives in the country had already begun to consider the dream of him as president as a real possibility, and were exasperated by how much the Democrat establishment worked to

Actually I feel like maybe it’s just not nerdy (in a sci-fi/fantasy/comics sort of way) or action-filled enough for most readers of this website. And before someone gets offended, that isn’t derogatory I love nerdy shit.

Not sure if they’re almost always pointless, I still do enjoy a really good recap that helps you see an episode in a different light, or points out some clever plot points or interesting character turns you may have missed. That’s why I keep coming back here. But yes that ‘this part was bad, but that other one was

Stop it guys, it might not be your thing but it certainly isn’t bullshit or meandering trash by any applicable measure.

A bit cynical, this review. Lots of air quotes.

I have a lot of love for the man, just wish he’d come down from his high castle.
