I hear the replicator makes a great Royale with Cheese.
Ah, see your point. Yes he does come across as a class A dick.
Don’t be a Jean Claude Van Trolle, that was a fantastic pilot.
So did Only God Forgives and that was a fantastic movie (which, ok, nobody saw).
There have been some brilliant TV shows over the last few years but so far Mr. Robot is the only one* that’s made me tear up. That scene at the mosque and the one with Angela...
Fair point.
Used to adore him. Then somewhere around 2005 he started becoming a parody of himself, a transformation that was more or less complete by the time the 4th Pirates movie came out. I’d lost most of my respect for him by that point, but what little of it was left went out the windows when this domestic abuse thing came…
Two words for you: “In” and “Bruges”.
When you design sounds and superimpose and/or sequence a bunch of them together, that’s called “music” :)
Dammit. Of course!
And somehow you left out the best Darlene line from this episode. “I don’t like you very much.”
Agree, Mac Quayle has been doing a superb job since the series started but this was a standout episode music-wise. As well as what you mentioned, the industrial ambient techno as Elliot rummages through the building looking for a terminal was masterfully panic-inducing... and of course the crescendos.
I don’t think anything that’s happened in real life in the past two years quite rivals the economic devastation wrecked by “5/9” (sure worse things feel like they might happen at any moment... but they haven’t, yet). Don’t forget Trump will get elected in this universe too.
Come on, aren’t half the shows and films at the moment set in some kind of alternative past, present or future? Robot still manages to feel current regardless of what year it’s currently at.
Man what’s up with this comment section? Where is everybody? By my count Mr. Robot is absolutely the best ongoing show on TV at the moment, yet everyone’s watching Stranger Things and Mindhunter and whatever else is on Netflix. Not disrespect to those shows, but seriously.
Somehow those 18 episodes of this show made it to Israel as I was growing up. I loved it, and have had thoughts about it to this day. I never knew it was cancelled after just one season, and never would’ve thought that could have been its fate considering how good it was (relative to almost everything else at the…
Also, can we please give a round of applause to Martin Wallstrom? He’s quietly been doing a spectacular (and spectacularly underrated) job whenever he’s been called upon. Initially in Season 1 I had him pegged as a utterly soulless Patrick Bateman type, then of course he had his spiritual breakdown and exposed…
I love this show so much.
I beg to differ. Has there ever been a US president more under the control of the 1% and the biggest corporations and lobbies? Look at every single bill he’s signed, legislation that he supported, or every other move he made. None of it had any other motivation other than appeasing the people who put him there.
