I totally am. I’ve been to the Indy 500, the USGP, the NHRA Nationals at IRP, ALMS races at Mid Ohio, and a couple roundy round races at local dirt tracks.

My hangup is the cars don’t look like cars... And I can’t get into NASCAR because there’s no such thing as RWD, solid-axle, pushrod V8 Camry in nature.

If this is more street cruiser than track toy, I’d throw the CTS-V coupe into the mix... 3-pedals, 556hp stock (Or way more with pulley/full exhaust/tune), the perfect amount of oddball styling, where it’s weird without really being handsome or ugly.

GT350 was my first thought as well, given 2014+ restriction. McParland should be voted off the island for picking a freaking Lexus.

The Z/28 was a helluva car, but GM painted it into a very small corner with the other cars in the showroom... It costed more and had less power than a ZL1, but wasn’t quite as good of a track rat as a C6 Z06, which was similar money.

If they moved the headlights down into the grill, it’d look like a Charger or 2011 Mustang... And be pretty cool looking.

$16k could get you into a slightly rough around the edges C5Z that would blow this things doors off this thing all day long but, to be fair, a halfway clean all-trac is a rare freaking car.
