I can’t see the take rate being very high... When I see the list of all the fancy pants electronic this and variable flow that, my thoughts are “Wellp, that’s all the shit that’ll go wrong at around 120k miles. I’ll take the pushrod V8 please and thank you... Sans DOD and variable valve timing, if that’s an option

The dealer is famous for its collection of rare and wonderfully well-kept wildly overpriced old BMWs.”

My bad.

I don’t know how old you are, but 400hp was a big deal in 1991. Today you can walk into about any dealership in the country and walk out with a 400+ hp car, but for context:

It actually has more to do with the electrical system than anything. per SAE testing standards, the US-spec WRX’s need to have their horsepower rated while charging 3 vape pens. The added load on the alternator is why the US Subarus have a lower horsepower rating.

Wat? 8.7 has 2 sig figs... 48.7 has 3 sig figs... 10,50, and 90 all have 1 sig fig.

I can’t think of a car that better exemplifies suicidal savagery and half cooked design than one with an 8.0 liter V10, no abs or traction control and side windows that are opened with a zipper. Here is your car, good sir.

Creed is a cargo van owner if there ever was one.

Agreed. It makes me think of the old extended Econolines.

They did... It was a great big, fat, underpowered turd that was barely distinguishable from the rest of their lineup.

I think it’s more a case of Harleys used to be the benchmark for masculinity... Which, inevitably, caused insecure men to buy them in droves so they could assert their masculinity... Which, inevitably, led to Harleys becoming the symbol of insecure men.

If the engine was any farther back, it’d be in the way of the hitch. *shrug*

Benefit of the doubt? This is 2018!

That won’t be a popular opinion, but I think cars are so damn fast nowadays that some slack can be cut to the techs.

I think the key is the movie was made in 2003... Old Z cars were dirt cheap in the early 2000's. You could buy a pretty nice late 60's muscle car or an E30 M3 for high 4-figures. I would say a 280Z back then would be analogous to a mid 90's Celica today in price/desirability.

No doors and it requires a motorcycle endorsement to drive? Guess what people with motorcycle endorsements use for commuting when the weather is nice? Not things that can’t lean over.

If they make them all the same, then how would a Fusion driver have a smug sense of superiority when he pulls up next to a Camry at a light on the Monday after a race?

I’ve come close a few times on long road trips just because I’m picky about what gas I use. If I have an 1/16 of a tank and the only station at the next exit is “Jim Bob’s Homemade Gas-Oh-Lean”, I’ll chance making it to the next exit in the hopes of seeing a BP or Shell. It’s been tight a couple times.

Weaving in and out of traffic violently enough that loss of control is a possibility is reckless driving and should absolutely be dealt with.
