List stops at 1700. Modern China is a different place. Most their domestic products are awful, ask anyone from China.

I am not a fan of power/displacement myself. I think that's stupid because the two aren't really related, power and airflow are. What is a good benchmark IMO is torque/displacement on an N/A or supercharged engine if you know the airflow per rev. I figure if its making about 65-70 pound feet per liter it's achieving a

I'm not so sure I'd go to say the smart car is strong. It doesn't weight much and so it didn't totally disintegrate when it hit a wall. Good for them, and its great they were able to make it do as well as it did. At the same time if it gets in a head on at speed with something with more mass than it, which is likely,

I wouldn't trust anything that is designed, built, and intended to be used by the Chinese. Its going to be a cheap pile of poorly concealed of mistakes. Sure they can build our stuff when they are held accountable by western companies but I hate to think of the corners they would cut if left entirely on their own.

That's crazy you're on here. I'll be at Michigan and Lincoln this year so I'll probably see you if you're there at tech again.

That makes no sense in this context.

I don't know if I would call a wide body "barely modified".

The fact that most people suck at driving is a whole other story. I think we're on the same page though. If you get oversteer at a low speed you can recover by countering the slide and pretty much just drifting it. At the same time you can turn into it and end up with a different but controlled trajectory or possibly

I feel the the Z06 is the more legit sports car while the ZR1 is the one that goes out and does really well on paper and is a marketing tool. It has all kinds of superlatives and is perfect to set a really fast lap on the Nurbugring but isn't nearly as fun on a smaller track. The kind of place a DCT belongs.

Saw that one too...

Aaaaand here are some bad ones...

I saw a guy that had a scaled down head gasket for a Honda f4/f4i motorcycle tattooed on his forearm. Yes I recognized it instantly. Car tattoos are the ultimate dude magnet for guys who don't already get enough bromance in the sausage fest that is car culture.

Are we talking about the same thing? I'm talking about when your driver's ed instructor said you should always turn into the slide. That then results in the car doing one of two things; a) you're going slow and it does half a donut and you stop sooner but facing oncoming traffic or b) has enough momentum to keep

All for putting a dual clutch in the top trim corvette. Then go hurl it around the Nurburgring and beat errbody out there and shut up the haters for a little while. Might have to wait for the ZR1 for that to happen though...

The Z24 Cavalier

Could you tell if it was a flathead or OHV? If it looked like a flathead it was probably a dodge B series. If it was an OHV head it was probably an international R series or maybe a Chevy "advance" 1947-1955".

Pretty much everything back then was an I6. I don't know of any 5 cylinders.

Makes me think of an r series international. About the only one I can think of that looks anything like that.

You have a second to make a decision and you have to fight instincts. Turn into a skid and attempt a donut can be safer than trying to course correct. Sometimes you have to make a choice to hit the car next to you or put the car in a ditch in order to avoid oncoming traffic. Finally, trust your newer car's technology

I've seen this happen just from weight on a small trailer. It happens when the trailer gets at all out of shape and the tow vehicle doesn't weigh enough to control it.
