Part of the beauty of capitalism is that if you fuck up, fall behind the times, or fail to innovate, you eventually cease to exist.
Americans care about freedom more than safety. They’d rather get fucked up and drive fast and have backyard pools and available prescription drugs than save lives.
Alcohol absolutely facilitates violence. You drink it and suddenly want to break, beat, or steal something.
The question is about saving lives. If you care about saving lives, you should care less about mass shootings and more about run of the mill horrors that account for a massive body count.
