It is much more difficult to kill someone with the next most used implement to a firearm.

It is much more difficult to kill someone without a firearm than with one.

While an outright ban on alcohol would greatly improve our society it’s just not realistically possible (I’m assuming you were going to bring up the 18th amendment). It can be easily made in homes and is a vice going back throughout human history.
