They’re overcompensating in the other direction. Alex Kurtzman understands fuck all about Trek, and that’s how you get nonsense like this trailer. Always leading with action sequences and special effects while ditching interesting stories and smart character development. Making a point of constantly referring to

Why oh why is this show so bad?

The fact that he’s still managing to dupe people with this schtick is astonishing. These makeup jobs look terrible and the accents are plainly fake, and yet these people still get fooled. You have to wonder if these Republicans are so used to talking to walking cartoon characters that they’ve lost all perspective.

Oh my God, that last segment snapped my head back. I shouldn’t have been as surprised as I was. Gun nuts are truly in a league of their own - you get a sense they would shoot their own mother in the head if you whispered “Constitution” enough times.

The first three segments I was sort of “eh” on, but holy shit at that last segment. That would have to be one of the best things SBC has ever done. The things Larry Pratt voluntarily said are truly horrifying, and the cut from Matt Gaetz to Trent Lott was perfect comedy.

I took umbrage with Hello Kitty being classified as a “toy”.  She’s a logo that appears on pen and pencil sets more than anything else.

I think the first episodes of the Toys that Made is was better.  The second set of episodes seemed a bit weaker overall.  Although I did like the interesting timeline about how 1960s GI Joe getting inported to Japan evolved into what eventually became modern Transformers.

We have a free platform, and are going to use it no matter how shitty. Deal.”

I regularly question whether the people who work in tech actually try the product before launching it.  “Hey let’s move this over there and throw in huge pictures so you can’t see the text!”  “Awesome dude, launch tomorrow!  While you’re at it, change the commenting section so you can’t tell who’s talking to whom.”

I’ve been reading this site since I was around 13. I’m now 22. Lurked for a lot of it, but I feel like I’ve grown with the AV Club. Many of my favorite shows and movies, from my most formative years and beyond, I watched because of articles or recommendations from the commentariat.

I hope whomever was responsible for this format was among those let go/bought out. It’s been argued about ad nauseum but this format drives people away.

For all the A.V. Club staff. I know these are worrying and uncertain times, but it was obvious from the outside that you were getting fucked by corporate at Univision, which has been striping the site of everything that made it special and has been turning it into an empty shell. Now, you may still have an opportunity

I always kinda knew it would happen, just not this quickly

I’ve been hanging around this site for years. Was that the BEST use of my time? Dunno. But it provided an outlet for snarky jokes and pointed me towards some truly amazing shows and movies I never would have watched otherwise, helping me to steer clear of others that weren’t worthy. Like many other long-timers, I was

2 1/2 years to irreparably damage a publication and then strip and sell it for parts.

Candy is quick, tasty fuel when you otherwise don’t like eating. It’s easy to eat. Packs a lot of calories in a small punch. Gives you energy. Lots of drinkers don’t eat much.

I’m just wondering how she would have carved words into her back. Doesn’t make that much sense.

I was wondering where those scars came from, like maybe we were going to have a flashback of someone carving words into her back. I guess she did that herself.

As a lifelong Trekkie, I always wondered how a character like Harriman would’ve been given control of the flagship of Starfleet. That’s a good little tidbit to get dug up.

It’s the biggest tornado you’ve ever seen! You’re gonna die!” And then you have to do all this big, hammy pretend-acting, and then you’re, like, “I’m just a liar, I’m just a phony.” And then when they put the CGI in there, you’re, like, “Oh, I could’ve been much bigger.
