Yeah, that's a better description. I read his interview…here, I think?…where he was talking about how he wants a variety show sort of vibe, and all I could think was 'god no, please go back to being weird.'

so…
1. This was the last segment of the show reserved for a comic or band, which would suggest that Dore and Scovel wrote the bit and brought it to the show. Why is Conan answerable for this?
hahaha
thank god o'neal got back just in time to cover this one. wouldn't have been the same without you!
pop culture criticism is a buyer's market, cyrus. it's hard to believe Meredith Blake would miss all of these errors - including a first paragraph that's basically incoherent - if she had read this over before posting it. what's stopping them from forcing writers to do this?
good lord
i know it's a lot to ask, but is there any chance someone working for the fancy website could proof read these articles once or twice before they go up? is the race to be the first to cover ancient Real World episodes so intense that this can't be done?
Seriously. Best of year
it had to happen eventually
being that sleazy looking and hosting a show that sleazy are the definition of tempting fate
Joe Rogan
is actually a pretty funny and perceptive dude. And if his WTF appearance was candid, he was baked for basically the entire of this show's first run. So you know, keep your eye out for that.
also, low class east coast jews go to camp too
If you worked at a Jewish summer camp it's 10/10. If not it's probably more like 7/10. 8/10 if you're a fan of The State.
kill yourself
Do you know where I can find a book on…well, I don't know. Camp directing, I guess?
Protip: to activate God mode in the first Keen game, hold down g, o, and d on your keyboard.
Both Party Down and Louis make excellent use of the underdone "main character does drugs with intent to party, but then is abandoned, alone, and frightened." Adam Scott by himself on ecstasy slightly edges out Louis's crazy pot smoking neighbor, though.
So am I the only moron
who didn't realize that Sophia didn't know her father had killed himself? Completely missed that.
I find his opening bits to be the best part of the show. His self-lacerating narration of visiting the Coke museum was priceless.
Gallagher
walks out
What a bummer
to hear that about the score. I thought Encounter's score pretty much made the movie - so gorgeous.
Yep, called him Jeff a few times. The first time he laughed, thinking it was a joke. Not a very funny one but amusingly subtle coming from a guy like that.
Ending?
Curious to know whether anyone has theories about the ending of the movie. The footage is "destroyed" and the reenactment implicates only the contestants. We're meant to assume the show violently killed them and then made that up, right?
