Yeah, wasn't expecting that cameo at all. Wish he'd gotten more screen time.

It's a five-way tie for number 1 between Rubies, Your Blues, Trouble in Dreams, Kaputt, and Streethawk.
This staff interaction is nice. It would be great to see it exerted on something worthwhile, rather than some moron's vanishingly small point about nothing important.
I'm also confused about this. I enjoyed The Office and Extras, and I love Gervais in Louie as well. But his podcast (which prominently features the titular 'idiot') and this show just seem cruel and stupid.
C'mon Nabin
You should have just faked it!
Hm
Transference was released in February and holds 25. Fantasy was released in the past few weeks and holds 1. Food for thought.
Since we have to wait
a whole week to talk about the show, all in favor of talking about Night 2 here join me.
"I think the idea there is that there wouldn't BE a long run. It's the proposed endgame for the series"
Djf is right on the money. This season has been positively awful, precisely because of the problems he's highlighting. The supporting cast and its subplots have always been a bit of a drag, but we're now really beyond the pale.
Yeah
How bout that Foley cameo? Anyone else think he looked like he was doing an impression of Stephen Root?
It sounds like Everything is Illuminated and a dozen other novels from the past 5 - 7 years.
Same shit, different year
There's a nice, almost poetic symmetry to Hollywood's ineptitude when handling Seth Macfarlane. How many years ago was it, now…8? 9? 10? that no one recognized the guy's comedic genius and put him out to pasture too soon.
There is no single mistake that Roger made, or that Don made, and that's something I've been driving at all along. Both of these characters have fatal flaws (Tragedy 101, again) that are driving the bad decisions they make. Being in love with any particular woman doesn't constitute a fatal flaw, because it's…
Working backwards:
Tallahassee continues to reign as the best album of Darnielle's post-tape recorder years. Possibly his best album period, though Coroner's Gambit and All Hail West Texas give it a run for its money.
wow
I've been waiting for this guy to make an album as good as Bewilderbeast for so long…I hope this review is accurate.
Clearly I'm becoming a broken record on this subject, but this is probably the last word I'll have for it so you can relax.
It seems pretty clear to me that whether or not Don's act is "despicable" hinges very much on the impact it has on others, not on whether or not he finds it fulfilling. This is a pretty classic definition of despicable, in fact; yours seems very new. A cursory glance at the many threads in this post confirms as much.
Maybe I would hedge my bet above a little and say that I *hope* the show goes in that direction (i.e. focusing on the next generation of leadership), but that it seems equally likely to me that we'll continue to focus on Don as he loses what's left of his redemptive qualities.
Original was too long, so I split it. Here's the rest.
