There is nothing in the letter that would lead a good detective to think that the writer is necessarily a homophobic racist christian (he might be, you just don’y have much to go on.

The issue is not whether Dzhokhar Tsarnaev did something good or bad (we all know the answer). Pretending that this is the issue is just a straw-man diversion. The real issue is whether the bad thing Tsarnaev did was merely an isolated event, or part of a larger phenomenon. The Deadspin staff seem to have decided the

Behind every good lie there is usually a kernel of truth, and the Bible is no exception.

It means they get the lion's share of the blame.

Would you care to provide actual examples of these "actual people arming themselves with weapons and bombs and attacking Muslim people"?

"However the topic was about Islamic terrorism, and in that context I think talking about Christian terrorism and Israel is justified."

You obviously do not know much about Israel.

Israel is not an example of religious terror. It is a secular state (mostly). The Gazan's are not under siege because they are Muslim, or because there is a Jewish precept commanding that such a siege exist.

I think that is hard to gauge. When I saw the sign in the Indonesian Airport, my first thought was "I am going to keep my distance from drugs on this trip." You are just focusing on the extremes, "the criminals," but it is hard to say how many more people would have chosen a life of crime if there were no penalties.

Are you arguing that penalties do not have a deterring value?

It's a phrase I use in order to introduce information which I think will be relevant if the discussion will continue. Seeing how we are not in a real courtroom or in a formal interview, I don't think it's that important if I don't use it correctly. (BTW while you're nitpicking my choice of words. Why don't you go

You don't see any black people posting "he's going to get lynched" if a black individual is about to be fired. Have some dignity!

Here's my two cent theory about Africa:
