The Spirit lake tribe supports the nickname. They are located about 80 miles west near Devils lake.

North Dakota meant they would not have a nickname. It was a popular choice among sioux supporters, but they are doing the right thing and got rid of the option. A new official nickname is needed but it will not be supported by the general population for many years

As a newer ( moved up here in 2008) resident of the grand forks areae, all i can say is this whole nickname issue is insane.

Highschool football is all fucked up now. They all go 3 wude with a single back and run a read option. These kids are getting soft, the days of the wishbone and power I formations are gone.

In my experience behind the whistle, i ref because i love wrestling and its a blast calling a well wrestled close match with respectful athletes and coaches.

If it were Pushing or verbally attacking an official an official, i would agree. But this was a vicious pre mediatated attack that could have resulted in serious injuries. Nothing less than criminal charges on these two.
