It’s a trend for sure, thanks Spiderverse’s (and now Arcane’s) success. Honestly though I do find it way better than the previous dominant trend towards uncanny “cartoons but with visible pores” tendency pushed by Pixar and Dreamworks.

My wife and I were lamenting last weekend how much we miss the video store. We wish on a Friday night we run out, pickup a pizza and have the kids pick a few movies at a video store to rent. I know on demand can do that but just the idea of looking at wall of tapes(or dvds) in a store felt so much better. It was an

100% this. And even though Avatar land is great, its got nothing on Harry Potter. There is something about that world that just translated so well into a theme park area. I think its the bit of mundane life still sprinkled into the property and the fact that so many shops and places to eat and drink are featured.

I easily spent HOURS a week just going through the videostore.  My favorite thing.
