The poster was speaking specifically of the First Order’s knowledge of Luke’s death. We (the audience) don’t know that Kylo felt Luke die, though I agree it’s likely under normal circumstances.

More importantly to the topic at hand, he did it remotely in ESB. “Apology accepted Captain Needa.”
Check out the companion article on iO9, entitlement run amok -
They’re not expected to like it, that’s just hyperbole. TLJ is extremely divisive among OT fans, especially those who have been imagining a post-RotJ happy ending, guided by contradictory canon sources, for 30+ years. And those expectations were just destroyed.
Again with the bombs. What is it with you people? When has Star Wars ever remotely cared about real-world physics? That bugged you enough that you put it at number 1 of your complaints? How do you get through life?
Then you’re not looking very hard.
Which is EXACTLY what we had to do when the OT came out. Use your imagination.
People like you are literally the #notallswfans hashtag protest waiting to happen. If this post touched a nerve, ask yourself why. Do you think he was attacking anyone who disliked the film as opposed to those entitled fanboys starting the petitions the article was about?
Projectile from Dark Empire II’s Galaxy Gun (1995)
Geez, let it go. The bombs? The bombs are where you draw the friggin’ line? This from an unabashed B-movie Science FANTASY film (Lucas’s own words), where: there’s sound in space. starships fly like airplanes, where laser bolts and laser swords have a finite length, no matter what technical BS they came up with to…
blah blah blah...doesn’t match my expectations born of fan entitlement...blah blah blah
Who are you to say what is and isn’t Star Wars? You’re not the artist, you’re an over-possessive fan. Look, I strongly dislike the prequels and almost everything they added to the lore, but I don’t debate Lucas’s right to make the films he wanted to. So this new trilogy doesn’t feel like Star Wars to you, that’s fine,…
Hyperspace missles were introduced in Dark Empire II via the Galaxy Gun. :)
Let’s be honest here - there was never a way to make a new trilogy and not walk back at least part of their happy ending.
There has been a significant contingent of fans with knowledge of JJ Abrams who have been telling y’all not to expect anything from his mystery boxes. Still, people fall for it again and again.
Didn’t they do that in TFA and get soundly thrashed by the same fans hating on TLJ? In my mind, I want SW filmmakers to take chances and accept that 50% of your hardcore fanbase is going to think you ruined their childhood no matter what.
I guess it depends on what parts of the canon and EU you consumed. This flawed Luke was a staple of the emo phase of the EU in the early to late 90's. In fact, the force projection comes from a similar scene in Dark Empire.
Do you find these any better?
that doesn’t make sense - judging from the amount of fan tears on the internet, TLJ took a lot of risks. Just not on these two specific points.
