speedster?

This has always been one of my favorites. This is a shot of Eau Rouge at Spa Francorchamps in Belgium. On the left: GT class racecars. On the right: F1.

Don’t listen to the rest of these guys. They actually use something called a “hover pit” for extended hover testing. This has the grate as you describe. In reality it isn’t really needed for ship operations as they have already adapted the decks to handle the heat of vertical landings. On land vertical landings will

If you’re hovering in the hot zone, you deserve to get shot down.

How do you figure it fizzled? It was meant to be a halo car and usher in the new “///i” division. It’s been out for 2 years, the auto journos reviewed it and gave it solid reviews, they’re still striking when you see them. What more could be expected?

It’s not supposed to get the traffic through faster. It’s supposed to make a queue shorter and thus, as in the example described by supraphonic, not block up junctions earlier down the road.

no. use the lane until the merge. Efficiency.

So you’re saying that as a professional driver you still can’t handle the zipper merge?

And what if people are getting defensive about their lane 2 miles back? Or 3? Look at all that wasted asphault!

Why? Why waste all this road space? You're only making traffic jams longer than they need to be...

You realize all you’re doing is making traffic even worse right? Like you understand that?

The people lining up early are the problem. Know why? Because they’re DOUBLING the length of the traffic jam. If everybody would just fill both lanes until the merge point, that exit 4 miles back from the bottleneck would be totally unaffected. But the idiots that think they’re somehow being nice or respectable by

Dear ‘Murricans on Jalopnik - please stop being stupid. Can You? Please?

So you’re arguing that we shouldn’t be using the full capacity of the roadway and to encourage single-lane backups miles before a work zone, then?
I’m working by a long-term construction site with a years-long lane closure and every morning I see a queue backing up through multiple intersections in the one through lane

What about the total passive-aggressive cockface that uses his car to block the collapsing lane dead in its tracks?

Hasn’t Jalopnik posted several articles arguing in favor of zipper merge along with lane splitting and left lane passing? Pro zipper merge is an established editorial position of the publication.
