I think he was just making a joke. Typically Deadspin to put a twist on something that isn’t there.
Yes I can agree with this and I think it can work the other way as well.
I guess we can both come to different understandings then, because as I read them they do back up my claim.
Sure they did. Whether you agree with them or not is up to you. I can’t reason through them for you.
It can work both ways I think.
What is your criteria for a study to be relevant?
No matter how many studies I throw at you, you will choose to believe what you want. I know that, for myself, having given up on looking at pornography has improved greatly my treatment of other people and my view of sexuality. And I can find you plenty of stories that will speak to the same.
I can get you more material, but I do think that the first study I cited is relevant. It demonstrates the parallel between viewing pornography and abusive behavior. Child porn is certainly not exactly the same thing as adult porn (as one is criminal while the other is not), but I would disagree that they are not the…
Drugs, alcohol, and porn all lend themselves to addictive and abusive behavior. I’m sure it was a momentary reaction because he groups all those things under an umbrella.
Many studies confirm that porn is addicting and that it contributes to abusive behavior. Providing that information for your team hardly seems like a mandate of how they ought to live. He was asked what type of educative information has been given to the team and he gave an honest answer.
So you don’t think there is any merit to the claim?
Linda Cohn, a well respected and long-tenured espn employee, made the same argument. You don’t think that there is even some merit to the claim? I think I would at least give some credence to the opinion of someone who was been inside the ropes for so long.
