“Chumba, one of the runners who was led off-course, took fourth.”
Watch video footage from this year’s SCCA Runoffs at Indy. Regular first turn mayhem because they go 5 or 6 wide on the oval’s straightaway.

Nobody is optimistic about the track, we are optimistic that it will be a complete disaster. And not a disaster like stage racing, disaster in a fun way.
If you know who Shawn Smith is out of the Louisville area. He builds some of the nicest cars, regardless of the fact that they are for figure 8 races.
He uses a port city road race clip, so the thing is basically a trans am car underneath.
Figure 8 races are fine. Treating them like races that you expect to be clean is stupid though. As long as you go into it with the acceptance that the “race” part is merely a pretense you’re fine.
and once this comes out you bet I am going into testing mode and doing GRC with NASCARs and Miatas
If you took your kid to a figure 8 race for good clean respectful racing and not middle aged men throwing tantrums after crashes were always inevitable, you probably aren’t smart enough to articulate the nuances of crowd dynamics and such to them anyway.
I’ll take this over football hooliganism any day.
Or you can just shelter your child for life and never let them see anything that may be offensive. Then when they have to deal with life on their own without your helicoptering they can’t handle it and have a panic attack.

rip out the hybrid crap and just fit the Volvo V8
God, I always hated the 262C Bertone—the 780 is infinitely better looking.
NASCAR road racing is the most entertaining racing on TV. Heavy spec cars with huge power and small tires that can take quite a bit of contact at road course speeds. Combine that with drivers who don’t alwsy drive robot perfect on a road course and you have a recipe for awesome.
Dumser’s remains my favorite-named location in OC
Wait, do white people not know what Black and Milds are? How can you not know what they are?????
87mph max is one of the government regulations for Kei class cars.
Screw you, Redford! I will continue to use Pat Tillman as I patriotically rock out to Springsteen’s “Born in the USA!”
Listen, I gotta be honest with you here—I love cars.
That tan Nissan was just sitting there on the highway for over an hour? No flares or hazard lights? It’s amazing it took that long for someone to hit it...
