It's quite natural to the rest of the world. Besides, since the Celsius unit is larger, it is easier to discriminate between them and thus give a more accurate estimate. A 2 degree Celsius difference can definitely be felt. I'd challenge you to be able to distinguish between 2 degrees Fahrenheit warmer or colder.
