Movies: Finally got around to Moana. Utterly enjoyable. I'm not a huge Disney person, but a Disney movie that works in references to Fury Road, Mononoke, and Godzilla? SOLD.

Sooooo…it's kind of an old-school Defenders movie, right? Sub out Namor for Thor, and you're there.
Here's the thing I feel like gets missed with the Sansa thing (and yeah, I'm somebody who feels like there is too much rape on TV): this was the next logical step for Ramsay's character, never mind how it was depicted. Should it have not been shown via Theon's PoV, or maybe we just "hear" it without seeing it or it…
Books: A Rage in Harlem, by Chester Himes (the first of his Harlem Detective novels). It's actually kinda funny; Grave Digger and Coffin Ed come off as almost comedic in their stiffness, Goldy (the main protagonist) is a male con artist who dresses up as a Sister of Mercy in order to con people, etc.
Books: So, uh, I started reading Jim Thompson's Pop 1280, which mmmmmaybe wasn't the best book to be reading in light of this week. But it's still kinda fun and funny when it isn't repressively dark.
I still regret most of my music listening from the late '90s.
Books: kinda-sorta finished The Fifth House of the Heart, by Ben Tripp. Which was…eh. And I say kinda sorta because I got bored with 100 pages left.
Movies: fiiiiinally got around to watching Her, which…well. That was depressing, and a little too much like my life.
I'm convinced, at this point, that the proliferation of Funko only makes conventions worse. Their placement last year at NYCC just jammed up all the traffic in the main hall with their long cordons for the area, and the lines to get into their booth.
TV: wrapped up Luke Cage, which I still like better than Daredevil. I like the sense of place, the interesting characters, the wonderful music…just great, all around.
Machi Koro: Catan done right.
GOSH yes.
That cliffhanger sold me for forever.
TV: Luke Cage is my everything. Oh, man, this is just…I love this. It's a detective show, really, not a superhero show, and I just love everything about this.
Pa Kent and Superman (Ma, too, but Pa's the instigator), especially as depicted in Grant Morrison's run on Action Comics. The two of them pull pranks using Clark's superpowers, but Pa makes sure that Clark knows what his responsibilities. Also, if you extend it to the Superman from All-Star Superman being the same…
She actually dislikes that one. It's weird, but…she does. She claims it makes no sense.
Books: I'm reading (and almost finished with) A Wizard of Earthsea, which I haven't read in…20+ years. It's still really good, and man, Patrick Rothfuss probably owes a few bucks to Ursula K. LeGuin. Still, some of the ending drags a bit.
Books: started reading Fight Club, which I'd never read before. I've seen the movie a dozen times, of course… Anyways, this is pretty electric, and I definitely am now in the camp of "guys, this book!" Also, it's fun to read this while knowing how it ends and seeing how Palahniuk is telling us how it ends about a…
Books: mostly just dabbling. I tried some Laird Barron, which…didn't do a lot for me. Then started in on Max Gladstone's Three Parts Dead, which, 3 chapters in, isn't bad so far! Enough that the world by itself intrigues me.
Started in on Noah Hawley's new book, Before the Fall, which…I dunno. I think I like it? I'm not very far in, but I want to like it, so…we'll see.
