I feel like people get this argument better when it’s gender, not race. But I think the point is the same.
I agree - there’s no “shame” in flat-chestedness at all, it’s just not the most flattering cut.
I just don’t understand what you want. You want their wages to stay under the minimum wage? So that more of them can work? ???
That New York magazine tattoo is so cringey. He’s just a fat rich white guy who likes black humor. But it’s all a pose. I’m pretty sure he has no friends of color and would never date a woman of color. There’s something desperate and lovesick in his white girl jokes.
Is this all based on some books you read? I work with low wage immigrants, and they do take whatever job they can get but they also really don’t need “classes.” They have job skills, mostly. They need work permits. They need status. They need more $$. They need help with all the PTSD they have because of their fucked…
Also, the low wage economy is pretty dynamic. A lot of them take these jobs because in immigrant populations, there is a word of mouth pipeline to certain jobs. It’s not like they sent their resumes out to all of the low wage businesses in the city and only got called back by this terrible nail salon. The nail salons…
Who is taking away their jobs? Someone predicted that if you enforce labor laws, some will lose their jobs. My point is only that the economy will adjust and that is a dumb reason for not wanting to enforce labor laws against employers who illegally exploit their employees.
I hear you about citizens, but we’re talking about eliminating wage slavery. I doubt these women will be instantly competing with well-educated citizens for middle class jobs. They will probably find other low wage jobs somewhere - but low wage as opposed to no wage.
Maybe some of them. But they are likely all eligible for some kind of financial settlement of wage-hour claims against their employers. Plus, the Latinas can sue for discrimination it sounds like (and I hope they do). The economy is incredibly elastic, these women will likely be able to find other work and if not, it…
I want to hear from that person who posted re: Baltimore about how Asians are better than African-Americans because they own businesses. I’m sure they have a really insightful take on this business model (slavery).
Seriously though! I never get a satisfying answer to this question. I see people I know on Tinder all the time. How can you hide? Then there are the “deactivated” profiles that I bet are on during the day when they are somewhere else. And the guys who are “swiping in [wherever]”? crazy fools.
OKC is the same or worse as far as lying. No one is really lying on Tinder - it’s caveat emptor, and you have to listen to your instincts, same as meeting a random person on the train or something. OKC is far grosser - people tell so many lies about themselves. I have met more really screwed up people on OKC than I…
Also, is she giant?
Can they please have a baby together?
It’s more that she doesn’t care about criminal justice issues/racism/economic inequality at all. I don’t get a whiff of sincerity at all, just pandering. So I don’t think she was super gung ho about past policies, she probably just went along with what was popular. That’s generally why I don’t like her.
Don’t even get me started on immigration law. Clinton’s administration spawned 20+ years of complex federal litigation over the tiniest distinctions in language regarding who is deportable, just because it was so draconian and overbroad. The amendments to the immigration law passed during his administration are a big…
Well, it was a CVS, hardly a mom and pop business. I’m sure they have insurance and make way more money off of this community than the community took by damaging the property.

Are you in tech? I don’t think it’s racist necessarily. Even in regular customer service situations, especially when trying to correct or change a flight in an emergency or what have you, if a person has a super thick Indian accent, it is really frustrating because you know (1) there will be miscommunication at a time…
