Ah, yes, because if there’s one thing we’ve all learned over the last few weeks, it’s that the cops can be trusted to do the right thing.

Run for the fucking hills.

I wouldn’t deal with this thing if you gave it to me for free.

I paid less than this for a nicer example of the exact same car back in 2012. Same color, trim, everything except a light gray interior with 78,000 miles. I loved that car. Even when I traded it in in 2015 for a leftover Honda Insight, they gave me $5200 for trade in, so I gotta say... its a little bit crack pipe.

They call that an 8 Series now. So it basically still exists.

Huh, the old model looks better.Dont like that they got rid of the squarcular daylight running lights. Which is new for me because I usually find lights age quicky and prefer the new models lights.

The old one looks like it’s about to sneeze. The new one looks like it’s chewing a cookie.

The press release says it’s bigger, but thanks.

Is the grille any bigger? It looks like it has sharper edges, and a raked profile, but otherwise it looks to be the same size. Compare the 2020 model (top) to the 2021 model (bottom):

With environmental concerns, less and less places are available to off-road every year. Can’t find anywhere to go here in Maryland. I’m sure it’ll fade out just like the rat rod trend a few years ago.

True, but a GX/4Runner doesn’t exactly have a reputation for being a POS.  They’ll go 200k+ too, and can handle what 90% of people consider “offroad”.

I agree completely. The Porsche Turbo WAS a decent dollar proposition in the 996 and 997 gen. and in the 991 and 992 gen its gotten so much more expensive that it doesnt really make sense.

I think your mistake is in assuming that the buyer of one of these won’t also have at least one of the other cars you listed.

Because Porsche’s have a reputation for being, by far, the best built and most reliable in their class. Drive a 996 with 100k miles and then try to find an R8 or McLaren with the same miles. The 996 will be drum tight and the R8 and McLaren will have bits falling off the interior.

The more experience I get with

You buy one of these to show that you can, while still having a comfortable and easy to drive car to go back and forth to your office in. The more extreme sports cars are very compromised in thier day-to-day livability. If you just cared about driving and wanted a sportscar Porsche you would buy a Cayman and save

Please don’t make any jokes about how small the back seats are. We get it. They are small in nearly every 2+2 ever made.

Does anyone actually like these?

Not related, but sending good vibes your way given the current scenario at your employer.

Current Hertz employee here. Contrary to popular belief these are probably the best taken care of used rentals you can buy. Unless something went really wrong at some point, these aren’t getting into the hands of the weekend traveler who reserved a Yaris, they’re being rented by people who actually are willing to fork

Let’s see.... Spend $60K on a used (abused?) fifteen-foot banana packed with yesterday’s technology or spend $60K on a base $60K C8 Vette packed with tomorrow’s technology and you’re not piloting a giant banana.
