Honestly, I don’t think Porsche is a “threat” to tesla at all. The two cars don’t overlap in buyer base. I have a Tesla Model S and I can assure you I’ve not heard a single person in the existing Tesla owner community express interest in buying the Porsche, even when their Model S leases expire or they choose to

It’s sad that a TV show in Germany decided to do a test of the only two high-volume (for EVs) performance sedans available?

I’d disagree mate. Come to Chicago sometime and you’ll see that Teslas are plentiful here. It’s like the new Iphone everyone buys one here. I’ve even seen Tesla’s in the hooood.

While all this is true, the panel gaps on the Tesla are inexcusable on a $100k vehicle. My Golf has better fit and finish for fucks sake.

It’s hardly unreasonable to compare the two existing luxury performance electric automobiles on sale at the moment. Furthermore, the Taycan 4S costs within $5k of the Model S Performance and has the same build quality as the Turbo S.

It won’t end until we have more competitions in EV market. Tesla was only one in the premium EV market really. All other EVs are cheaper main stream brand offers. Now porsche jumped on it as premium ev. This comparison will end when Audi version finally comes. I think Audi really close to reveal.

It’s difficult to find the sales numbers for the Model S specifically in 2019 (the Model 3 has been their biggest seller), but it seems ~80k Model S’s will be sold this year. Porsche is set to produce 40k every year. I would say 40k is mass consumption if 80k is...

I was going to say this. If future comparos in better conditions and with a newer Model S continue to show that the Taycan outclasses the Model S, then the only thing we can say to that is “well, that was expected.” The Porsche is vastly more expensive. It should destroy the Tesla in every measurable metric based on

Its no surprise at all that a soon to be released Porsche that costs 60% more than a Tesla, before expensive Porsche options added on, is superior to to a Tesla based largely upon 2012 technology.

eh.. a 100k tesla is not a ‘mass consumption’ vehicle. Cmon w/that mess.

Listen, the Porsche may cost more, but the build quality is going to be so much better than anything Tesla can ever produce. I’ve never been impressed by the interior or build quality on Teslas. Porsche is going to build the car properly.

I fixed the title for you.

Model S with 4 motors and 17 seats coming next week. Will beat Taycan.

All the networks are open except Tesla. Soon the Supercharger network will be dwarfed by EA and others. Charging is going to be better/faster on 800V anyways. Tesla’s advantage will soon become a liability.

A lot of those stations are at Wal-Marts located off the highway. Isn’t that exactly where Taycan owners wanted to park their $100k-$200k car for charging, while they go have lunch at a Denny’s next door?

That’s just sad. Seeing M decoration on a transverse engine. It’s the BMW shitbox.

How is it that BMW doesn’t know how to do rear ends anymore?

The James Dean Porsche was really light. It also turned into aluminum foil shreds when it T-boned Mr Turnipseed’s Ford Tudor. You don’t get superlight along with super stiff, AC, airbags all over the place, crash safety, and really good ride and NVH.

It’s a porker.

Your kidneys are worth $60k each? Stay there, I’ll be right over. I need to pick up some ice...
