Your Oasis love explains your White Stripes love. I know all I need to know.

Wicked! Queued them up!

I considered putting Only Built 4 Cuban Linx on my list, but I've only listened to it a couple of times. I remember loving it though. I will definitely listen to Supreme Clientele though. I've heard good things!

Can you explain the appeal to me? I have this nagging feeling that I'm on the wrong side of this contentious issue, but no-ones been able to show me that he's more than just an OK guitar player who loves Zeppelin and their ilk.

Jack White is something of a bugbear for me. He makes pretty good retro bluesrock, and people hail him as the savior of rock. I don't actually dislike his music, I just find him to be really nothing that special.

TBH, both those Belle and Sebastian albums should be on there, and neither of those White Stripes albums should be on there. *gasp*

Man, that'd be amazing!
What are your top 5 WTC releases? I need some recommendations to expand my knowledge!

Yeah, I'm gonna see if I can find some good stuff on YouTube for live performances. They definitely sound like the kind of band who really explode on stage.

My knowledge here is not as extensive as I'd like it to be to be honest. For Wu-Tang Clan as a unit, 36 Chambers and Forever are the albums I come back to again and again. I've listened to a couple of their later records, but none of them really grabbed me. For solo stuff, Liquid Swords is pretty well unbeatable. I'm

Zip City is a good tune. They definitely have a specific groove to them that I dig. Very much in that Southern Rock tradition, not doing too much new with it, just doing it well and with heart.

They'd definitely be up there with MBDTF and College Dropout for me. It'd be a tough job to order them though.

Oh I see. I honestly love all his albums. I'm less likely to throw on 808s than the others, because it has a very specific vibe, but I find it to be a really fascinating record. I still haven't really heard anything else quite like it. Yeezus is also very different from his other work, it's messy and disjointed and

Yeah, I definitely get the South feeling, you can hear the deep south blues influence. I'm digging the guitar work there, they've got a really great sound. It didn't really "pop" for me though. It sounds like the kind of thing that would kill live, but you can't quite capture that energy on the record. Zip City up

That's what SG recommended too! I just listened to it! Thoughts below.

You gots yourself some link problems there EB.

Do you mean a big drop off after MBDTF? So you didn't like Yeezus+post-Yeezus singles?
I might also put Jay-Z's The Blueprint pretty high on my list: Kanye's production on there is some of the most vital work he's ever done imo.

I put 'em both on. Will update you with thoughts.

This is a good list, though I question the decision of putting two Kanye records before anything by Nas or GZA (or WTC as a whole). Also College Dropout> Late Registration (just).

I'm gonna put a Drive-By-Truckers song on my Plug.DJ playlist for my buddy right now. It will be my first time hearing the band. What song should I pick?

I would definitely argue that Illmatic is not only better but more important and influential than Nevermind.
