I'm not sure if he said that, you may be right. But the attitude that you see from Rock and CK especially is that they understand what they're doing is a craft. They work on bits, they think about other people's bits, they understand the construction and what makes something funny. The exchange they have where Ricky

I always find that the comedians who talk like that are the ones whose jokes wear thin after a special or two. Or who start off well, but start to have really diminishing returns after a while.
Watching that Talking Funny special really hammered this point home. The way Louis CK, Seinfeld and Chris Rock talk and think

It might also be fun to do like a fantasy football league for characters in currently airing TV shows. Pick before the season starts. Points based on plot developments, character growth, etc. Maybe bonus points for being involved in plots with particular tropes.

I started making this list but then realized I had 118 out of the 200, and no-one would want to read 'em all.

I think that stiffness is part of his style though. He's not doing that thing where he pretends his act is off-the-cuff, he's performing. I really like his semi-deadpan delivery. The bit he does where he reads out an article about himself from a college newspaper is killer.

To me the range of "middling" to "loving it" in the reviews so far are a warning sign. A lot of the time it seems to signify movies with deep story issues, but enough flair and lightness to carry an audience through. People either go along with it wholeheartedly and give "Loved It" reviews, or can't quite pinpoint

I'm still leery of anyone who could sit through that thing and not come out seething with rage.

This seems to be the consensus.

If I can make it through S1 of Blackadder, I can make it through anything.

I have, in fact, seen every episode of Blackadder. Growing up a comedy fan in Britain I really had no choice.
I was really put off by the animation in Ugly Americans, so I never got into it. It's on my list now though. Thanks for the recc.

It's not joking, and please don't call me tomorrow. I'm busy.

Oh shit, I SHOULD watch The Knick. It's not on Netflix though..and Habbinal is.

I thought the "enemy" in the name was ironic, considering how friendly and easy-going he always is.
