Two things can be true.

3DW Co-op is definitely better, but I kind of wish there was a full split screen co-op version because tethering the players to be near each other at all times can be annoying. It would be nice to have one player be able to backtrack or go on a side path without dragging everyone else along with them. 

Tried 3DW co-op over the weekend (online, not local) and it was WILD. Nintendo internet issues and resulting lag aside, it’s like the levels were intentionally made to not be co-op, which is the perfect recipe for hilarity. Steering Plessie with four people? Madness.
