When there was first talk of Sorkin doing a behind-the-scenes of an Olbermann-esque news show, given that Dan & Casey were partially based on him and the other Sportscenter dudes, I so desperately was hoping he could use one of those characters and just have it be the later progression of their career. I acknowledge this is a totally unhelpful comment, but I really dislike when comics reviewers refer to "the camera". I know his point was about it being particularly cinematic, but I still feel that it devalues what is and should be a separate medium. It's better/different than a movie because there's no camera; to

I choose to believe “Oh my God, I have no voice and they want me to be Mr. Scream?” was a weirdly subtle Harlan Ellison reference. That, or it is just an incredibly amusing coincidence that he worded it exactly that way.

I've only lived in Seattle a little while, so any time I see the reruns they still air after SNL episodes I am blown away that it ever existed. A relatively high-profile sketch comedy show only in a local market seems, to me, "inexplicable" (there, I used it in a sentence).

He was also a cast member on the inexplicable 90s Seattle sketch comedy show Almost Live for years.

Ugh, should have refreshed.

Not to get too sidetracked from The Sopranos, but it would be hard for people to be bigger idiots about Breaking Bad seasons starting slowly than they have been the past two or three years.

Thanks for the information. I guess I was exaggerating a little—it's not like ~$50 is some incredible sum, I just had a hard time imagining a point in the future where I'd decide to pull the trigger on buying this for that much. As much as I tend to dislike the idea of Criterion automatically equaling "canon" for a

I have an older sister who watched this on an endless loop growing up, and I truly believe I would be a different and worse person had that not been the case. It's fantastic.

Aww man, it makes me sad when Frontline doesn't get any comments! It was indeed strange watching this at the end of a May Day which saw people here in Seattle once again smashing storefront windows downtown.

I really hope I can afford to get this some day. I hate to use this cliché, but it's almost like a "perfect storm" of different things that I really like all coming together into one awesome-seeming package. It was only a few months ago when I randomly stumbled upon Herz's The Cremator (it might even been from someone

I saw someone mention that dude on Twitter once (@wileywiggins:twitter), and discovered this his Twitter info is: "Ask me to touch my nose and I'll punch your face".  The idea that he'd evidently been haunted by that over the years really amused me.

I Just Want My Pants Back didn't make a huge impression on me—I watched all the episodes and enjoyed it just fine—but it's been on my mind a lot with Girls premiering and having so much backlash against it. Don't get me wrong, I think Girls is much better and "smarter", for lack of a better word, but I don't they're

Aw man, I'm jealous of him and he's like a week younger than me! I think people are forgetting that he's been doing this for probably more than a year at this point, too. Anyway, count me as another Seattle person who will buy you a beverage and talk an awkwardly long time about how Over the Edge is the best episode

I was going to recommend White Tulip as well, particularly because it's a time travel episode like @onaccounta:disqus was soliciting but in general just because it's perhaps my favorite television episode of all time, of any show. It's almost completely unconnected from the continuity of the show, except for the

This isn't directed at you, @avclub-22eda830d1051274a2581d6466c06e6c:disqus , but I've heard a lot of people single that out as the one good MADtv thing and it's always driven me crazy that it's such a complete Mr. Show rip-off. I don't necessarily have any strong opinions about MADtv, so I wouldn't say something like

I really disliked that actress on The Shield, and finding out she was Shawn Ryan's wife definitely didn't help. Still, I felt kind of bad hoping something would happen to her character here.

Thanks for this. I am terrible at remembering to listen to these free preview streams—and it seems like practically every new album these days has one somewhere. But this showed up exactly when I was looking for something to listen to, and I'm always curious to see what Krug is up to.
