I have a lot of friends who make more than I but then I remember that I’m wealthier. I live below my means and invest regularly for retirement. I watch my “rich” friends struggle with big car payments and big mortgages.
I totally agree with this. I’ve done the same. After my CEO had us sign confidentiality agreements which stated he had access to our social media whenever the company wanted, I just decided it was time to delete. I don’t even miss it. It really made me realize all those 100's of friends weren’t really friends and I…
I’d like to hear from other lenders who read this site but the generally feeling, at least in my group of peers, is that anything besides a FICO is not a score worth using.
Here in GA I support Lost N Found youth. I set them up as part of my Amazon smile account. I also give time/money to GA equality. Also the Trevor project is a good place to donate to.
I’m gay and I’m glad you mentioned other groups other than HRC. I personally wouldn’t give them a dime. I’m white and finacially secure and even I see them as a A-list white gay men’s group for the wealthy. http://www.advocate.com/human-rights-campaign-hrc/2015/06/04/5-most-disappointing-things-we-learned-about-hrcs-wh…
That’s nice you were able to do it at home. I grew up on a farm and I’ve put down countless animals growing up. Some were definitely tougher than others and none were easy. While my animals were not pets, I can kind of grasp how you felt.
It really is great advice. I’m a lender for a credit union and my client base regardless of age generally cares about the lowest possible payment. If I could give them a S550 for $300/m with an 18% interest rate for 10+ years they’d take in a heartbeat and a lot of lenders are okay with this. Their though process is,…
Ugh. I really like to avoid all social media. I just feel like it’s a problem waiting to happen. Recently in GA a former NFL cornerback (retired) was fired from his job for a picture on Facebook. It was of him just posing with a girl and a vodka bottle.
As a VP who works with the CEO to make up our rates for a small credit union, we usually offer higher rates on older models b/c they just aren’t worth as much when you repo them and take them to auction.
As a lender I have this conversation all the time with people. They really don’t know they difference between their vantage score and FICO. Also within FICO there are custom models as well. For instance we use FICO 8 but FICO 9 has just come out that weighs medical and paid off collections less. Some mortgage lenders…
This is great to know. I had given up on Facebook and Messenger for a while and decided to reinstall it. I went to bed and my battery on my 6P was almost dead and play services was at 45% utilization. I uninstalled. I may reinstall again.
Along with credit score we are also using BNI Scores. These are indicators of bankruptcy.
You must totally live by me b/c I go to parkway pointe all the time. Looking forward to the new Suntrust park?
I work for a credit union and have been in this business over a decade. While we say we are “not for profit” we totally are for profit. In the past 5 years we’ve definitely made a move to sales. The slogan goes like this with CEO and executives when I go to conferences, “while we are “not for profit” if you make more…
I’m going to give it a try but I’ve been using pocket cast forever and it’s such a great app. I feel like I should stay with them and support the little guy.
This would never work at my office. The women in my office go on strange diets such as (no white foods this week) or no fried Wednesdays. They are all fat still.
We also have cards that have no grace period so as soon as you swipe we begin charging interest instead of like most cards where you have until the payment due date to pay off in full. Also, cash advance aprs generally charge without a grace period regardless of card.
I usually disagree with most of Mr Juzwiack’s writing (especially on sex and PreP) but I really enjoyed this piece. I too found that when I deleted social media from my phone and silenced certain notifications I had more focus and enjoyed experiences more. I’d definitely like to see more pieces like this.
I cut cable at the time due to a drop in wages during the great recession. My company got ride of bonuses and incentive pay. I’m making more now than ever but I just don’t miss it. Also, Comcast wouldn’t put a new jack in my condo and I was sick of seeing a cord running around the base of my condo.
