What are you on about? Porsche went through great pains to make the cabriolet have pretty much the same roofline as the coupe.

Oh. It’s funny, but I actually forget that there’s a coupe. I can vouch that the 6 convertible has a worthless ‘backseat’ (aka fancy parcel shelf), but the GranCoupe is actually quite useful as a 4 seater, even 5 in a pinch.
I almost asked earlier, but what do you mean by ‘seats’? And I do like that color combo, but I’m glad mine’s red (aka ‘Sakkhir (sp) Orange’).
I believe that was DeMuro. It is almost scary how quickly you get accustomed to having a shit-ton of horsepower though.
Much, much smarter. If you need more power, get the V10, it’s sublime, and nearly ‘common’, what with being shared with the Gallardo. I’ve never driven one, but I’d imagine the stock V8 is quite nice. Also, the turbos would mess up the sound, which I believe is one of the best things about the V8.
I hate to be a negative Nancy, but didn’t we just do this? Also, I wouldn’t even begin to look at this thing if it wasn’t done by a major tuning house, and being sold by a major high-end pre-owned car dealer (ideally, one of the houses that built it in the first place). Even then, still a pretty emphatic ‘No’. The…
Oh my, that’s really unsettling. I’d really love to know what keeps happening to it.
To answer your question, no, at least in the US, there is no ‘back-to-basics’ model.
The catch-22.
They’re just sooooooo overpriced. I was just talking with a friend two nights ago, his Porsche dealer keeps calling him to come in and look at their Macans, because they think he’d like them. One is $90k, and one is $100k. For basically an Audi RSQ5 fastback with a fancier badge. It’s V8 Range Rover Sport money, and…
This. I *almost* posted yesterday on that ‘how much would you spend on a car’ question with ‘Well, depends on how much it’d be worth when I got rid of it’. I mean, you already know that these things (and i8s) don’t depreciate. And, how I got a $190k car leased for the same price as a $90k car. But I digress.
If you’re in the US and it’s a Discovery, it’s at least 11 years old, and probably more like 15. Still, 3 times in 1 year is quite terrifying.
That’s just painful to see.
Cool. He said twin-turbo in the article, which I thought was odd, but figured it was a typo. And, I’d be so mad if I had that awesome triple turbo 550d and BMW kept insisting on calling it ‘TwinPower’. That name may very well be lamer than EcoBoost. I can understand trying to confuse people to hype up the…
Haha, yes, they probably didn’t even see you. More and more in new cars, you have to change lanes like on a motorcycle - make sure there’s no one beside you, and just hit the gas and change lanes. Although, why people find signaling such a burden I’ll never understand.
Since you seem to know what you’re talking about, is this an actual twin-turbo? I was under the impression that all of the I6’s after the N54 (except for the M3 and diesels) were single-turbo.
Thank You! I still have a soft spot for the OG CLS, but the M6 GC is good. Weirdly, I don’t think regular GC’s look all that good, especially withough the M-Sport package. Something about it just seems ill-proportioned. And while I love regular A7’s, I don’t too much care for the RS7. But, for certain, none of them…
Yeah, but at $8k-$10k, you’ve got to think long and hard about it before you buy it. The quoted figure isn’t exactly the least-expensive way to keep the thing running in good shape.
At this point, with W211s old enough to be in junk yards, but young enough to be plentiful, probably not a ton. But replacing the steering wheel an that trim around the gearshift (and, for gods sake, the little piece of wood in the gearshift) would be a lot of work.
